    Seems we had a months rain in 4 hours, yet no one from Environment Agency to be seen.

    Thankfully the water has drained away almost as quickly as it arrived. Busy day cleaning up today, garden is like walking on Porridge, but we are so thankful that it never came in the house. Yeah so the we have lost about 12 cube of logs that had dried over the last 18 months and a couple of carvings that would have been on their way to customers this week. That is all quickly replaceable. We are on the border between West Lancashire and Sefton and our heart goes out to the less fortunate across the North West who in many cases have watched as the water has entered their home for a third time in as many weeks. Big thanks to all your prayers, thoughts and kind words. Ps our Bees survived...yeah!!!

    Seriously heavy rain from around 4 this morning and by 10 am the river burst it's banks by 10.30 garden flooded. Big big thanks to a couple of mates and neighbour,who brought a couple of submersible pumps and flat hose, we managed to save the house but it was a close, close thing... Water has drained off for now but more rain expected, tomorrow is project flood protection. Thoughts are with those less fortunate, it's not a pleasant thing to watch as the water rises so quickly.

    I started out charging by the hour and found some customers would be time watching and a bit shirty if you finished early. Now as above now charge by the job and got rid of the shirty customers. I have a minimum charge and let people know that up front. Some people will always want to shop around so let them and move on.

    A friend of ours does gardening in Northumberland and charges £25 per hour. Not just the grass cutting but extensive horticultural plant maintenance.

    Turbo plane is a beast at rapid wood removal, mini turbo plane is more controllable and is great for hollowing bowls. New Turbo shaft is also easy to control and is great in more detailed work. Haven't really explored all the options with it but hoping to do so in the next few days. Wouldn't touch the Tuff Cut with a barge pole I like my fingers attached to my hands.

    Gonna see if I can hollow it out and retain the image in a hand cut bowl.

    Agh sorry to hear that, wonder if you rang Aintree Store could they ship one to a store near you. I got my Triton from Tool-Station store. It was £89.97 plus £23 for the additional log jaws. Not sure if the Rockwell will take log jaw grips. Good luck either way we'll worth the money.

    Our local B&Q at Aintree still had them on Saturday £50, think it was made by Rockwell.

    Had mine for a while, great piece of kit, then B&q released a version at half the price and with better lock system.

    Many thanks, don't understand why they have generated so much demand. It's gone a bit mad. Agree with everything you and Dervish have suggested and I will be trying to take on board what you have suggested and transferring what's in my head through to what the saw produces.

    Many thanks, really appreciate the constructive advice, I am slowly building up the tool bank and so hopefully things like the claws which I totally agree I cut far too deep( lack of carving experience... Well that's my excuse) will improve. This one was carved with my181 and a flappy disc on the grinder. The biggest issue I have is rushing to get it done. This will change if these sell, which seems to be the case as I have back orders and people waiting. I do value your comments and thank you for giving your time and support. Hopefully which each carve it will get better.

    Many thanks, my biggest enemy is time. Always busy gardening and then by the time I get home too knackered to give this the time it deserves. Couple of people keep telling me to make the time...
