  1. I tend to agree with this. Okay so you can save a bit of cash by using an anonymous online seller but if we don't support the local dealer the same buyer will be the first to complain when the dealer disappears. When it comes down to it is it really worth trying to save 50 quid or screw the helpful dealer to the floor when in the grand scheme of things you'll make the extra paid back in an hours work.
  2. we use fuel cards, mostly for convenience. they can be 2 or 3p a litre more but you do get a certain amount of credit plus when it comes down to it 2p a litre is £2 on a weeks fuel of a 100 litres... not much really
  3. Yep. I agree.. Change fuel filter...
  4. Yep... Unmissable for me....
  5. yes... its a sure sign the blades need changing. On the CS100 they are double edged so just turn them round... its a quick drop... easy to do.
  6. wonder what the damage is or have they been really lucky???
  7. As above really. if administation is a worry look for a local book keeper to help with payroll. concentrate on keeping your guys busy and let someone else deal with the paperwork.

    small van

will the van be yours or are you just letting the chap use it? We've a peugeot bipper... lovely to drive...
  9. It can be a lot of pot luck with anything secondhand. We've bought old and spent nothing on repairs, or it can go the other way. Garages can be really expensive even for basic stuff. Try to carry out repairs yourself as others have said or look for a good mechanic who can help you out when you are stuck... Vehicles are for the most part just spanners and a bit of common sense....
  10. We have an old one of these. Ours is the later one with the chain brake. We use it for logging up on the ground. Its got good grunt and will keep going long after you're tired out for the day...
  11. Hello, did you sort your truck out.. Here is a link to show what is available. This isnt my truck just one i noticed today. LDV Convoy LWB Dropside Tipper 2.5DI | eBay
  12. Tend to agree. Lots of tippers about so have a good look online. For the money i'd say that'd be your best bet. Good luck
  13. Eh... I get that a lot... drive along followed by a truck, turn up a dead end and stop. the van driver then asks if i know where so and so is... yeah right..!
  14. [ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/Quiksteel-Plastic-Tank-Repair-Kit/dp/B001C69CLE]Quiksteel Plastic Tank Repair Kit: Amazon.co.uk: Kitchen & Home[/ame] Try this.....
  15. He'd been the victim of many burglaries by the same people. He lives in the middle of nowhere and took the law into his own hands to protect himself and his property. What else could he do? If someone comes onto your property to cause harm...i.e not looking for directions? Then they get whats coming to them.... What else?
  16. As far as i'm concerned you catch someone on your private property you can do what you like. PC Liberalism is killing this country.
  17. There is a system these days that is smoke based. It activates and fills a room with thick smoke that doesn't restrict breathing. I've seen these in shops, etc.. there was a feature on the telly recently that shows the system working in a jewellers. Instant protection
  18. Ebay is a good start point... we bought a KLF300 2WD for £1500 a couple of years ago.... Turned out to be a great machine...
  19. Exactly.... an innocent thread changes direction and turns into a bitching fest..... its a real problem with forums.... Great picture.. its the first time i've seen it..
  20. I agree.. keep a close eye on your kit and lockup. theives assume folk are off enjoying xmas. I know this the hard way...
  21. Really sorry to hear. Everyone watch out over the xmas period. Its the most likely time to get done....
  22. Wow.. 11k. Thats a lot... Really nice bit of kit though especially the crane....
  23. This is certainly my understanding. There are possibly scrap yards that may pay cash through the back door but none that i know of round here.
  24. I'd suspect that for the purpose of clarity its best to show your vat number and a vat breakdown on each invoice. That way there isn't any confusion.
