  1. the husky is 35volts. the oregen say it will cut for 2 hours on full chat how many run a saw non stop for 2 hours. not used one interested in using one. ideal for cutting small limbs as only a 10inch bar with small pico chain. oregen does have a self sharpener included. so getting near ground if you hit the ground you can resharpen it in 5 seconds
  2. 6am not a bit now over a 1inch and falling heavy main road now a single track and slowing down. glad of 4x4. but no work job to strim with snow and wood will be frozen stay indoors:thumbup:
  3. if any one is interested T H White ltd who sell i believe greenmech chippers has opened a branch near Romsey in hampshire.
  4. i looked at getting a dolmar/makita. try and find a dealer in hampshire who keep them on the shelf to look at and if poss try. only firm who sell them is elliots tool station and they sell all the building gear so what do they know about a chainsaw. nout. can get one. looked on there site at models that looks the one rang Elliots could not find it no longer made came up with a different saw. can get one. can you get one to look at no sir. we do not normally stock them now can you see why people go for husky or sthil when they are stocked those who stock them have the parts on shelf. have looked at other makes but yet to find one which weight the same as a 550. all heavier. if you can find me a dealer in hampshire who has them on shelf then i would retract my comments
  5. i thought the height of a lyandi was the height of the bed on a chipper:biggrin:
  6. +1 forgot about them they do a lot for the big arb boys and county stuff when i went in there about a year ago
  7. our polly tunnel gets very hot in summer so much so it will burn any plant in there unless you shade it so for drying timber make a good job and fairly cheap to make just needs some iron hoops and high grade plastic.
  8. will find out if i can get anything. bloody pain still my fault teach me to do as i say not what i say to others. thats near to a sermon by a preacher will that do:biggrin:
  9. once helped my late dad on a building job 18rung triple that was long went to top of a 3 storey house. but it bounced a bit. ELF would have fit now. if you did it not alowed over 6ft without a harness and risk assesment
  10. had a letter from grandkids school to check e mails as may close if we have snow so not to take them to school as teachers may not get there. got 4x4:biggrin:
  11. started to snow at 20.18hrs only light at moment. up to now just hard frosts. local station predicts 2 to 4inches tonight through tomorow. wait and see
  12. well thought i would post went to nurse today after having stitches out monday and not healed still open one end put 9 paper stitches on it and cross stitched it to keep it tight. and said rest your hand and try not to move your finger yes i am going to do that i am self employed if i do not work no money in piggy bank. must be nice to be employed and get paid if you do not work. long since i had a job like that you got paid even when sick
  13. what you say sounds right under bark is wavy white spore like lines so it is ded. what happens to larva and beetle in winter do they live in the tree. and is there no chemical you can use to spray to kill the critters off one of the trees is just getting to a nice size. i hate to see it get this. would winter tar oil sprayed on trunk stop them.
  14. had all the paperwork from EA but can not remember which one is free will look it up may need it
  15. tried the 550xp and the 560xp as you say so light i only used it on a douglas fir but it was a bigun went through it so fast unlike old saw caught me out a bit as it was so fast. just need to save up to get one
  16. looked at the elms i have and looks as if two out of 4 have got it all the bark falling off so sad as i looked after them. now only good for firewood.
  17. try a husky and you will never want to go back to a old type harness. has so many fitments will fit most people. i strim in summer 7 hours a day 5 days a week with husky not tired with normal know i have had a 40cc strimmer by my side
  18. spoke to my heating engineer and he said no way he would do it. as other posts check if he has done one or two lot more to it than just plumbing it in. in the end it is a glorified steam engine.
  19. after 2014 if you wish to drive a comercial truck 7.5tonnes or over you need to do a CPC. if you are pulled over after that date without this then they can throw the book at you. you can do it as a three day course. then a refresher believe every 3 years. it has made my job a bit of a pain as if i want to hire a truck to do a job can not. so will have to include lorry and operator into costs
  20. no have not. going to the island for there championships i came 3rd last year friend of mine came first so i am out to try and wrestle the crown from him. i am hoping with what i have learned from surrey and being much fitter:blushing: that i can do a better hedge and get it done without rushing. its a pain they are on same day did ask the island if they could move but can not. looking to go in march fro there charity do are you able to make it to byfleet this saturday looking for cutters have a 100yrds to lay to finish job Hampshire hedgehogs are going in force.

  22. go on BFF renewable energy so much on this subject that you should find what you are looking for. have looked and it was aprox £7k to install including pipework the pipework coming from tank is a special pipe and not just copper. so worth reading up on BFF
  23. if your friend owns the wood then you need to get hold of the TPO officer at the council arrange a site visit show the trees and if he is agreement that they are unsafe and need felling will give you the paperwork to go ahead. no need to get hold of the leader he will just pass it on and it will end up as bio waste in local incinerator this is the link for them http://www.south-norfolk.gov.uk/.../Planning-application_form_15.pdf
  24. what size is the hedge girth can you burn on site. you say need to clear 6mtr space how wide is hedge at present. have you any photos of job so we can look and give our opinion and can the digger not pull the brash back for you if it has to be cleared off site good 360 should be able to pull it back to then dump in a truck
  25. i can see its use with a long reach but with a strimmer it would get caught in the overhanging trees that a no of jobs i do have. but looks good just can not see it working for a no of jobs hence went for a normal harness. but more of a pro one
