  1. What he said I reckon. He might be unlikely to pay for a survey but if the tree is condemned by yours, he'd be morally obliged to get it sorted. I don't know where you stand legally, whether he'd be required by law to have get the work done. Someone on here will know.
  2. Picked up a pretty nice fleece base layer from tk maxx the other day. Half price at £25. They have some decent outdoor stuff most of the time.

  4. Where in west Sussex is it?
  5. I don't think you can have all those things in a jacket, can you? I've got a Stein evolution 2 which is nicely windproof. Longer sleeves and back which are good. The rain gets in eventually though. I've heard very good things about the cut and climb but it is mega bucks.
  6. Pretty sure it is! Found dozens of them under a load of Ivy which we took off a wall. I told the guy I was working with to watch his fingers. He didn't seem fussed until he read some horror stories the next day.
  7. Reminds me a bit of 'the funk' from the mighty boosh
  8. What was it about the job that had you in the harness all day? What happened? How did the rescue go? You might not want to say which is cool but would love to hear more about it.
  9. Nailed it! Thank you.
  10. Sweet. Can you do more pics?
  11. What a beauty! Great shame. How many climbing hours did it take?
  12. I think YouTube do this by default. You as the author can change it though.
  13. very good indeed.
  14. I also have a client with a similar. problem. Is there a way to combat the honey fungus? Are other hedging shrubs immune to it? What can be done?
  15. Scaffolders within a mile radius. Does that count? Singing (badly) and swearing at 110db all day! We had some put up at our place last week and they've smashed the flower beds to bits!
  16. Went yesterday too. Not as busy as previous years, maybe due to the sun not quite coming out. Rabbit burger and a Harvey's always a must.
  17. Depends where you do cs38 but probably all you need is harness, climbing rope (x1. 25m or 37m) and two prussik loops. (helmet and boots with ankle support also) That's all you need to get off the ground!
  18. 50 foot exactly!
  19. Can I give you my address to send the venison?
  20. Type C's in the middle of a prickly conifer hedge! Aaaaargh
  21. From an HSE perspective if you're using rock climbing rope for tree climbing, you're using the wrong rope. It will certainly hold your weight but I don't think it's designed to withstand the friction that arb rope goes through. For recreational climbing, as long as you keep a keen eye on its condition it's probably fine. You may find arb rope and arb friction rope perform better though and also give you more peace of mind.
  22. All depends what friction hitch you use. And even then different combinations will behave differently. From a health and safety point of view believe fiction cord should be a minimum of 8mm. Is your home made stuff rated?
  23. I believe there's an option you can tick in the YouTube video settings.
  24. Nice work. Beautiful tree.
