  1. The Americans use them a lot
  2. 1. Yes 2. Yes 3. 505 15 69-01 4. Unlikely, but it's only a 3-5 working day wait
  3. So it's had a replacement cylinder, either the 50cc XP engine or a 353 engine. Either way, I still recommend the refurb of the fuel system and a retune.

    Porting Saws

The muffler mod extends the cylinder life as the saw runs cooler, this has also cured a fault with the oil gallery warping and splitting on my 560. Porting adjustments should not affect the life of the saw either, unless the exhaust port is significantly raised to increase rpm. The greatest strain on the saw comes from adjusting the timing and increasing compression, but the muffler mod usually compensates for this with the increased cooling.
  5. 2002 version will be the old 45cc version. It has no decomp valve. Have you had the fuel lines replaced, carb cleaned and a new kit fitted? It's worth replacing the carb boot too.
  6. A dual port muffler give a significant enough boost for the 660 to out-pull a 661, ported should leave the 661 standing.
  7. Once you have a saw ported, everything else is slow, weak and boring! It becomes an addiction, ask stubby, matty or any others who've had a saw tweaked. One option is a dual port, but there's plenty more power to be got from other mods.
  8. I've read it, Jon's applauding the companionship of Clarkson's colleagues, saying it's difficult to find, whilst Jon does not condone Clarkson's actions. To those speculating where he may go next, he writes for the sun, so sky is very likely, although I would imagine Simon cowell could offer a very good deal to go to itv!
  9. Actually he's condemning clarkson's actions, as he said violence isn't his way of dealing with problems. You were condoning violence.
  10. The bbc won't earn any more off top gear now! Whilst clarkson was in the wrong, the producer failed to look after the team, and judging by what was said by May, allowed the group to get drunk before breaking the bad news to them. After clarkson reported the incident to the bbc, the producer had the chance to put an end to it, instead, he visited a&e for a split lip. Clarkson made effort to make amends, which was ignored by the producer, whom is effectively responsible for Jeremy's dismissal, which were his (producers) intentions. This has put an end to top gear, with the trio's loyalties to each other over the show. New hosts will be difficult to find, as tiff needel is a friend of Jeremy, as is Chris Evans, and most other entertainers who enjoy cars. So who could replace the trio, who know about cars, are entertainers and are brave enough to take that position? The Irish producer has put everyone out of business, lost the bbc its major cash cow, delivering the show as prime picking to other channels. I would imagine Simon cowell has the money waiting.
  11. Nope, haven't bought one yet
  12. Port it!
  13. All the non x-torq versions (362, 365 and special) will accept the 372 cylinder and piston. There is also the option of fitting the 375k cylinder (or 372 big bore) for more power. The 2010 version is x-torq btw, as it was replaced in 2008.
  14. having used both, the 362 is much slower than the 560, and both work best at opposite ends of the scale, Huskies are light handed tools, where you don't push it into the wood, it pulls its way through, the Stihl is best forced through the wood and made to spit chunks out. I'd suggest you figure out what kind of user you are. I prefer husky, but I'm better suited to sitting on max torque with a Stihl
  15. About three and a half pound an hour for her age, which is a fair weight in sweets!
  16. Modern quickstop is not the same. What people don't realise is prior to the chainbrake we all know, Stihl used an isolator clutch, which couldn't be applied at full chat without monging up the system and parts.
  17. Husky 365 isn't that much, and it's a 10 minute mod away from being a 372xp!
  18. The 024aveq is the earliest version, av stands for anti vibration, e for electronic ignition and q for quickstop (chainbrake) as these were optional at the time.
  19. No shite, most lads in tree work are into pop, hip hop and doing their hair nowadays! From what I've seen (the people I've worked with) the days of manly tree cutters are long gone! And women don't help to maintain the macho bravado in the industry.
  20. Just order p/n 1128 791 5500, it's the part you want, but a dealer can't get confused as easily with a number.
  21. You've over complicated it spud! Just tell them to stop being nesh, pull harder, faster and stronger!
  22. I thought it was if it sticks out the back, you bend that bit so the nail doesn't come out?
  23. Looking forward to summer photos!
  24. They know what the restrictions are, they just don't know what you need to say you're not restricted But saying that, the arbtalk community is far more educated than what most dealers are now taught, my local doesn't understand what a muffler mod is, let alone a ported saw, but I bet I could chuck a saw on the desk of skyland or jonsie and they could fix a problem without trying to replace the muffler or cylinder at the same time. Anyone can open a shop and sell stuff, it take knowledge of a product to understand the target market.
