  1. All I will say on this is, my profile picture is a Husqvarna 236 on that stump, they aren't screamers, so you probably have an air leak. Replace the fuel lines, carb kit, etc. you'll need a dealer or special tool to adjust the carburettor. You'll also need liquid sealant for the cylinder when you rebuild it, and watch the plastic transfers don't drop out.
  2. Can't, Mr B would lose half his clique!
  3. If the mixture is lean, just richen the screws slightly (1/8 of a turn anti-clockwise should be enough)
  4. I know! Must have been an off-day!
  5. Cheers! Out of interest what is the three points thing? Like a driving licence?
  6. Why am I not in this clique? I've donated and I still got a warning for offensive language!
  7. What? Your company states in every single 2-stroke manual that aspen should be used instead of pump fuel. All power specs are given for machines ran on aspen. Machines fitted with autotune and ran solely on aspen have engine seizures covered by warranty. Aspen is a cleaner burning fuel, that is more chemically stable and uniform mixture, providing a more controlled (and shorter) burn.
  8. Another alkylate fuel?! Dolmar need their own version now...
  9. And that hits the nail on the head, the nptc tickets are certificates of competence. Bit like driving licenses, it only shows you were competent on the day. I swear fortune smiled upon a lot of people!
  10. True, adequate training is the only requirement, but how do you prove it without a cert?

    Ragwort

Ragwort is a pioneer herbaceous plant, it requires bare ground to germinate and colonise. Horse owners regularly overgraze paddocks. Ideally ragwort should be pulled before it reaches the flowering stage to prevent it from seeding. It would take 3-5 years to eradicate from a paddock. This would be easily achieved by pulling as much as possible now, and spraying in autumn time with a selective herbicide, then repeated the following years.
  12. Ian Morgan for starters
  13. You are aware you can do just the assessment? Many places recommend training, some admittedly refuse to do the assessment without doing training prior. But there is no requirement for training prior. But regulating tool sales is a bad idea, it'll put the price of pro saws (there wouldn't be any homeowner saws) right up. Imagine paying £1000 for a 50cc saw...
  14. I wouldn't even bother for run-in tbh, most of the manufacturers advise only running alkylate fuel from word go! That's rated as JASO FD.

That's pretty slow! I'll assume that's the 50cc saw that revs that high. How does the 421 compare in weight to the ms241?
  16. You can use a filler-type on that as it looks just to be the oil tank.

Pity the rpm isn't 2k higher. 195psi is very high for a stock saw!
  18. Those are nice! Custom ones or do you have the P/N?
  19. I've sent you the IPL, I'll let you decide for yourself
  20. I have used the hyway big bore versions, which are closed ports, if that's anything to go by, they really are powerhouses!

    Dolmar

195psi?! Is it a clam or flat base shavey? What's max rpm?
  22. You can buy the assembly, it's part number 1129 790 1013, but you will need the rest of the parts. I can send you the IPL, if you pm me your email address.
  23. Husky own flymo and have done for a few years. I don't know why your dealer would stop stocking huskies as they make the better 50-60cc saws, and own the electronic carb systems. Unless your dealer isn't set up for dealing with e-carbs, but the whole Stihl range is switching over so they'll have no choice.
  24. How old is your neighbour? If they're very elderly, you'll want a very light saw!
  25. One of them wooden things ya keep your socks in, he misspelled it. Drawer. The baffle is a metal plate with holes in, that is fixed inside the muffler. It's usually straight after the entrance to the muffler.
