  1. Haha I don't want it just yet, but once everything else is sorted, I'll be interested, after all, I still have those case halves, a spare coil, various other bits and bobs, just need a new oven so I can knock the knackered bearings out
  2. Nah, I'll be porting the cylinder as soon as I get it!

  6. I've got one for £90, unless you could match the price with an OEM Mahle one?!
  7. They say it gets faster as you get older! I remember a term at school used to seem forever, now months fly by, but payday never comes fast enough
  8. This time it is my fault, when I was fitting the rings, I snapped one, so ordered some more, which were thinner, the time before was due to the idiots who used to work at my company.
  9. What a day, 2 saws to fix! 560 has eaten another exhaust gasket, new one on order, I'll loctite the bolts this time and my 385 has hung a ring, new cylinder on order!
  10. 12 months? If you're referring to the Mac 450 you started the thread about, it's 2 years now!
  11. Milling is semi as full chisel leaves ridges, and the likelihood of finding a nail in the timber!
  12. Which? House prices or contra prices? House prices are from my nan, people whose property I've surveyed, etc. the chainsaw price is from old dealer price lists from AS - Stihl contra info sharing thread.
  13. No, the opposite is true, as the chisel is the point of cut. Full chisel cuts on the point, which is why it cuts faster, only having a tiny surface area. This also causes it to blunt faster, as that little point has to withstand all that it meets. Semi, and chamfer, chisel have a much larger working edge, so are slower and require more power. The larger area also means it can withstand more damage, which is ideal for stumps, dirty timber and farm boundary trees. For those who want something even faster, it's worth learning to square file, as this is the most aggressive and fastest type of chain.
  14. They weren't that cheap though! The contra was £200 when it was introduced, considering a mini was £65, and a decent sized house could be bought for around £1-2k
  15. Dunno, never got to find out
  16. Same here, I was trying to persuade him to let me borrow his daughter
  17. He was on holiday visiting relatives, he lives in Carolina, although I didn't find out which one.
  18. Carry on using the super, even when you get the 576xpg, if you're not going to use aspen. It's jaso fd oil, which is the highest rating of oil currently.
  19. How often do you have to have the injection?
  20. That's the one!
  21. I'd sell that Land Rover, you're forever fixing it!
  22. They're very sturdy cans! Despite being 1/2L of chain oil less, I'd say they weigh more than any other can.
  23. No, I mean that the worm gear has slots for the large and small splined drums, it doesn't need to be changed, just the drum
  24. I want! Does it have the 101 kart engine I wonder, few good vids of those on YouTube!
  25. He is alive and well, apparently he's been very busy.
