  1. Whatever it is, the second picture is impressive, guessing phone camera? Pretty good if it is.
  2. Heard from mixed sources that 2017 is on the cards now for the final run of Fenders? More info on the Landie forums. You mentioned before about not being interested in a defender, is this because the production is stopping at some point? From what you have said on these threads a 110 hicap sounds like the perfect truck for you.
  3. Just remember Leon, stick to your side of the river... I have trained snipers on the Orwell Bridge! Took me about 9 months to set up at level where I had pretty much everything I needed and cost in region of 20k. My personal overheads are next to nothing though so any money made was ploughed straight back into new gear for the company. Once your advertising, just sub for as many people as you can, networking is key i found, fit your own jobs in around that until your workload increases. I had plenty of subbing work when i got my chipper and got a higher dayrate also which then funded the new chipper... take it slow and build it up gradually. As for advertising make use of all the free places online first, there's hundreds, make a note of when you started the ad and when it will expire so you can relist your advert. Google is your friend also so get a website, even a basic one page wonder and point all your adds at that. Parish mags are also good but now we're talking about paying for advertising. Post office windows in villages can work well also. I found leaflets best when i first started on my own but i had people prepared to deliver them very cheaply.... As said, a clean smartly written truck is excellent advertising, and once the writing is on, its free! Best of luck with it mate
  4. Having just played with my MS150 with great results Ill be having a crack at this also, thanks for posting. I bet within 2 weeks I wont own a non-modded saw!
  5. Had a similar late night vist myself a while back - Followed by this a few days later - It was an elephant moth I found out and they get to quite a size.
  6. Funny you should say that but I may also have someone interested, yes have a word and update here, may well be some others on the forum interested in doing it.
  7. Fired an email off to Otley/Easton last week but didnt get back, will try calling them tomorrow. Never been asked about it before but was 2 weeks ago by a contractor, which then got me thinking about my insurance and liabilitys etc thanks for the names
  8. Is it even still called that? Not sure but Im looking to do the "bigger tree assessment" I believe 32 and 33 used to be medium and large trees? But now, probably due to there not being any large trees left to practice on, its just "trees over XXcm" ? Anyway Id like to gain the bigger felling ticket, whatever it is or called now and am based in Suffolk so looking for short course and assessment, locally if possible but travel isn't an issue. Any pointers to get it done would be great.
  9. Ebay wont do anything
  10. Did mine in the place shown my post above.
  11. Just done mine, went for 8.5mm in the end as it was all had to hand. Just ran it through some well seasoned euc rounds and wow what a difference!
  12. Seen enough of these threads now, mines out of warranty so getting drilled later today. I wondered the same, this came up via a google search - http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/chainsaws/74661-stihl-ms150-3.html#post1127597
  13. dunno if these are any help? http://www.greenmech.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Arborist_19-28_manual.pdf https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Greenmech+19-28&rlz=1C1CHFX_en-GBGB569GB569&oq=Greenmech+19-28&aqs=chrome..69i57&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8#q=Greenmech+19-28+pdf
  14. To give an idea, I sold mine for £3200 (pretty sure that was the figure). Had two sets of blades, all the manuals and the only defect with the machine was some very light paint work rubs from straps, fairly low hours as well. Excellent machines I just didnt have the space, and funds at the time, to keep both the CS and the tow along. Keep the blades in good nick as performance drops quickly with dull ones and make sure to leave it running for a bit after use to clear it right out. I started off with one and it paid for itself in a matter of weeks, really cant rate them enough and when space is less of an issue for me ill be getting another.
  15. Hats off to you
  16. Kinda, its for the eBay shops, when out of stock they will inflate the price so people dont buy it BUT keep the same URL... so when back in stock the price goes to normal and they still feature high in google search. If they cancel / stop selling that item whilst out of stock, then they relist, it will gain a new eBay item number and new URL. Google this - SILKY FOX GOMTARO 300mm PRO Who is top? the above seller
  17. When you say domestic address Im guessing you are out of town in a quite area?
  18. Yeah the BT hubs and routers are utter crap IMO. We are so far behind the rest of thr world in regards to Broadband, my mate in Sweden has a 1GB fibre line and its cheap. Thing with fibre is the lines outside and to the box are fibre BUT the line that goes to your house is still copper I believe? Back to my buddy in Sweden they get a fibre line directly into house just like LAN. Also dealt with EE for the bis mobiles and by far the worst company i have dealt with, had to get the Offcomm people involved in the end. Since these issues I record all phonecalls via an App so that compaines like this cant go back on the lies they tell and then "suddenly lose the recorded conversation"":sneaky2:
  19. Genuinely my earliest memory of was of that storm. I was nearly 3 and my parents where half way through building our extension, we had no windows or doors fitted at the time just plastic sheeting, I remember being shown the roofing slates daggered into our lawn after they had been blown from the roof.
  20. Will check thoughly next door when next back, stems a fair size 14" plus from memory.
  21. Didnt have my mallet with me today but seeing as the chap is very local ill be popping back in the next couple of days for a further inspection.
  22. Chap referred to it as a Cherry plumb. The base is in a 10" high raised bed, concrete edged. Stem doesn't show anything out of the ordinary and the neighbouring grass also seems fine... flowered 2-3 years ago but nothing since
  23. Nothing seen no. No building works or major changes on his or neighbours side of fence.
  24. Client asked me to look at his cherry today, he has had issues a few years ago by what sounded like a rouge gardener. this gardener was always doing things that's were not asked for including removing shrubs and fruit trees. In fact, when asked not to come back again he persisted to make threatening phone calls to the client and then came back to the house at some point and felled a silver birch for the sake of it. Police were not interested despite the blatant criminal damage.... This was approx 2-3 years ago. Now onto the cherry pictured below. Whats known - No fruit for approx 3 years No blossom for last 2 years Limited leaf this year. There is one branch, the lowest branch, which has at a guess 30-40 leaves produced this year. All of them are wilted to some degree. All other branches bare. Very little in the way of any new growth showing. His words not mine - "Is there any chance that someone has done anything to it" Its in a rear garden BTW. PICS - http://i.imgur.com/qY8FHDX.jpg http://i.imgur.com/eThBCAi.jpg Any thoughts as to what has caused the issue shown?
  25. Be interesting to hear more reviews once they have had a few hundred hours on them. I agree the lightboard looks vulnerable, not seem one in the flesh though only the onine pictures. Does it have a spare? None of the pictures show one fitted.
