  1. I sometimes wonder what a woman's touch would be like dealing with a difficult customer. Let's face it, it has to be a million times better than my fat bald head! Lol?!?!
  2. I use a Brian James cargo digger plant trailer with the t/c on the back. Used it for everything on low voltage works in small narrow roads of villages at the back of beyond and never caused me any problems?? And the set up was getting on for 14 metres long! I'm sure you will sort out what's best, good luck
  3. The guys that are older coming into this I take my hat off to you! Climbing everyday at any age is hard work. I feel like an old man somedays! And to be honest as long as your fit enough there is no suitable age to start climbing........ Just get on up there!
  4. A still ms 170 is a good little saw. Not sure about bar size but my dad uses one when he has to?
  5. Once we tied my rope to the tracked chipper ! Never went so high so fast in my life, not the best idea but worked
  6. I use it as a false anchor point some Times with a prussick loop or sling depending on the diameter of the anchor I'm using. A great bit of kit!
  7. Hi lux. I have a 63 plate with a tipper back. Very good vehicle and great off road ! But as long as it starts and goes...............
  8. The apex motor cross track junction 6 m5 by the Worcester rugby ground take as much as you like!!
  9. Are you supposed to leave it on site? Could be difficult given the site location.
  10. Well done! It's hard to start with it's a long process learning the ropes! But I've never been out of work since! Best of luck!
  11. We work in a work position ing harness and that means ideally there should never be any slack in your line as if you was to slip or fall you would be shock loading. However experience dictates that this is not always possible so just be sensible and careful.
  12. Was a little worrying to watch, very skilled guy, but would have been quicker using a rope. You wouldn't catch me climbing like that! Lol
  13. I put a thread up the other week after talking to the petzl fella at the apf about this problem. I have a feeling that they have again made a product not fit for purpose, as it seems not to be robust enough. No way should you be filing down anything you climb on. Something is not right somewhere. I just think that petzl have a huge problem, and although they say they are being honest ect, they can't afford to have this one recalled aswell! On the note of the loler inspector, he won't want to put his name to any thing that might fail. Good luck!
  14. Hi guys, I went to the apf show on Friday, I came across the guy trying to inform Us of the petzl zig zag. It all sounded good untill he mentioned the defect with the links splitting, but no need to worry as it will be replaced for free, it even has an extended warranty??!! Any thoughts on this? Would you be happy to climb on something which has been known to in my eyes fail? I'm not trying to slag it off as I do like the look of it, just not sure weather I could truely trust it as I do with my blakes or prussick?
  15. You want to worry when you think that if the branch your on snapped you would hit the floor before the tree as your that far out! Not a nice though but one that must be considered. Just brake it nice and steady with as much weight on your main line as previously stated.
  16. I have on occasion lowered small stuff off my climbing line just a couple of cuts to get me out if trouble but if your doing a lot of lowering you need a proper kit.
  17. You can have 16 inch bars on, my brother used to have one witchcraft set up an used it every day! What tge hell for il never know , but I use the 14 inch bar, and seems a very good match !
  18. Get well soon fella! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
