  11. Great news, where a lot of guys fall down in this industry is being able to turn up on time free of drink and drugs ready and willing to work! If you can get out of bed on time and put in a shift then your half way there lol
  12. Hi i do beleive that mancoed have had thier troubles but if i was you i would go and try my best to get my foot in the door. Tell them your hard working and that your willing to learn and accept any training that will benefit you and the company. You can only give it a try mate and see where it leads. Good luck
  13. One with a big anchor and a nice open spread canopy to jump about in lol Not a fan of willow though
  14. 13 years in the industry and ive never heard of a holding cut. Just concentrate on the cuts you need for the assesmemt, Sink cut free fall Sink cut hand held Step cut free fall Step cut hand held (In board and out board) Target prune You wont be felling out massive chunks on assesmemt the assessor will want to see your work postion and control with the saw whilst completing your cuts. Good luck
  15. Contact the dno and they should instruct the contractor for that area and raise a reactive job. If they are close they will sodt it for you. After all they are obliged under th E.s.q.c.r regs.
  16. Ive used ocean polyester on a hitch climber set up tied with a swabisch Prussick. It bit well for a while but started to slip. So back on a traditional prussick now but really wann try again
  17. Hi welcome to the forum You need to get yourself some NPTC training and certification. Its not cheap but will enable you to find employment and start to lean about the job. I did the basics 30 31 38 39 and was able to find a job as i had aerial rescue and could use saws. 11 years later im still at it with heaps more tickets and heaps more experience. College based stuff is ok but it will never be better than experience and a lot of companys are interested in the nptc units amd not college as a lot of lads come out after 2 years or more with no tickets at all? Bit of a waste of time in my opinion as if your working with decent people they can help with knowledge ect Ive done all tyoes of jobs in arb from grounding to climbing to surveying to managing. So it really is up to you on how you go about it. I wish you all the best!
  18. People have jobs to do so should be left to get on and do it.
  19. One if the lads i work with has this harness. Seems ok but one of the leg looops webbing rubs against a metal clip and almost cut through.
  20. Should have specifed reduction in metres. Always open to interpretation however feel that they have done what was asked?? Ie loandowner wanted it like it? But as a professional in the trade shoukd have batted it back.
