  3. the throttle cable has stopped working/gone veryu slack and needs replacing, so i slipped the side cover off and held it down to rev it up to full chat, it worked but as soon as the stress came on it wouldn't go again, It was also showing a speed 2 fault (light illuminated and not flashing) on the H box?? could it just need the throttle cable replacing?
  4. Hi all. After some advice. We have a at timber wolf 230 dbh diesel wood chipper, which has started to play up. The in feed function of the rollers has stopped working?? The reverse roller works however nothing happens when you press the in feed button. Have changed the fuse and relays in the control box, however the h box is showing a speed fault ( not sure if the light should illuminate when at full chat?) do you guys have any other ideas as to what it could be? Have also taken the control switch off the side of the machine one side and everything looks connected as it should, also have chase the wiring loom to the connection plug and all seems OK there? Or does anyone know a decent plant mechanic? I am located in Birmingham and any advice would greatly be appreciated. many thanks

  7. If its the same as previous the minimum statutory safety clearance for a tree that can support a ladder or climber must remain 3 metres away from any un insulated cable. if it does not support a ladder or climber the minimum statutory safety clearance is 0.8 metres for the contract period - this is from the Energy Networks Association Technical standard 43-8

  19. one big thing is to learn the forces in play and how it effects the type of rigging static rigging - pulley above material to be lowered, ( branches are 2x heavier) dynamic rigging - pulley below materials to be rigged ( 14.2 x heavier) also though to work out the weights of a section of timber is to use a log mass flow chart, measuring the tree at dbh, x by oak or something like that as oak is the heaviest timber we have?? lord knows, that is what i got taught on my rigging course about 5 years ago now.
