  4. Go and get what you want and don't worry aboutbthe small stuff! Good luck
  5. That's right! You will need correct ua Certs for the job and written authorisation to work on any dno's power lines. Expensive but well worth it.
  6. This post is horrific. If it was a recognised best practice we would all be doing it! This post has made me lol!
  7. On a different note, as we all know dno 's all operate differently and have different operating procedures. Neither is right or wrong just different. General rule of thumb is if it's a powerlines treat it as live until you or the dno can prove otherwise. Always speak to your dno as they will be happy to help and advise you. Always get advice from experienced qualified professionals and not joe blogs with 300 years experience. Electricity is s killer and I would hate for anyone to have an accident whilst trying to earn their coin! Stay safe people there are no second chances.
  8. Shutdown is required! Leave well alone until it's safe to do so. Good call seeking advice.
  9. Crazy just crazy! You do what makes you feel safe! Il do what makes me feel safe! No one ever died from being safe! I personally think that you should be assessing the sites for traffic ground heave under ground services ect. Like you probably do to asses what additional controls can be put in place. Good luck and stay safe.
  10. Apex Moro cross track junction 6 m5 will take chip. As for longs sorry
  11. It's good to try different things and well done you for giving it a go! IMO I think you would be better off learning with a basic prussick loop. Keeping things very basic until your a little more confident, and there is nothing wrong with this system as I climbed on a blakes hitch/ prussick for 8 years. But the choice is yours and nothing is right or wrong. Your definitely in the best place possible for advice. Good luck and enjoy your climbs.
  12. Your safer on prussick. Hope all is well as its expensive gear.
  13. Wow? That's mega money!? Sounds interesting!
  14. Get well soon fella! Sorry to read of this accident.
  15. It has some bark damage but at this stage it requires no work. Monitor for further decline.
  16. Good advice, it's no good shelling out on tickets if it's not going to work for you. Have a look at it, ask the local firms and get a day or two With them out with teams, see, watch, listen, learn, and try. Only the. Will you be certain. I think that by enquiring you have made up your mind, good luck I hope you get on and are happy
  17. Ground control are the big boys in the utility world.
  18. Well as we all know that Anything remotely bulky get caught on ever leaf whilst moving around the tree. I've had first aid pouches drop off whilst climbing on only noticed when the guys have gave it me back one I got down?! I suppose in the eyes of the safety guys in theory you should carry one just in case, but in reality that doesn't always work. But I live in reality. Hope you get your answer. Good luck
  19. Full chisel! What else is there?? Lol
  20. Looks ok to me! Good job considering.
