I have all relevant ppe and climbing equiptment ready for work up to commercial contract specifications.

a friend of mine who had only been in the industry a couple of years landed a job in a college. He didnt have any technical evaluations or anything. All he had to do was follow the NPTC assessment schedule.

one big thing is to learn the forces in play and how it effects the type of rigging static rigging - pulley above material to be lowered, ( branches are 2x heavier) dynamic rigging - pulley below materials to be rigged ( 14.2 x heavier) also though to work out the weights of a section of timber is to use a log mass flow chart, measuring the tree at dbh, x by oak or something like that as oak is the heaviest timber we have?? lord knows, that is what i got taught on my rigging course about 5 years ago now.

one thing to bear in ,mind is that older ropes can become slightly fatter and miss shappen, and i have seen on a poison ivy rope that when it got wet, and left in the van overnight in freezing conditions it froze and expanded slightly, the lad thawed it out in the house and it returned to its normal size, just might be worth bearing in mind but i will be sticking to my yale xtc plus all day long!

yes it works very well, i have this exact set up, not gonna lie it would be smoother on a smaller diameter rope but it is designed for a 11.5 mm - 13 mm rope so slap it on there and climb safe!!

never used the spider jack but have recently purchased a zig zag! i am very impressed with it and think its a great bit of kit, can be used in a few configurations and its very safe and user friendly. definatly see why they are used the world over by many!

Hi all, I am looking for arborist work and utility arb work in and around the Birmingham and West Midlands area. I have been in the industry for 16 years this year, with 14 years as a climber/team leader. I have all relevant Nptcs with refresher certs to boot, I have been operating mewps for around 7 years now and have my aerial tree rigging. I have a full UK car licence with a b&e licence so I can tow, and I also have a 7.5ton licence and a full hgv class 2 licence. I have my own transport and I can be available right away. I have all my own climbing kit lolered, top handle and small ground saw with all required ppe. I am authorised on wpd to TL3 level with experience of hot glove work. I have been TL3 qualified for 8 years. I am a good worker with a great attitude and can do approach. I'm fairly easy going and i like a challenge.
