  12. thats £130 for a package 2mx30cmx30cm at about 120kg i'm not spending that sort of dosh. if i can't get it in one piece i'll try to get it cut in half but i thought such a straight bit would be great for milling.
  13. or a license, i am epileptic and can not drive... hence my frequent requests for help.
  14. i think it was the weight on top of the length that was the problem. i too have had couriers bring me 8' planks but only up to 30kg. i reckon this would be about 100-120kg.
  15. too big for them...
  16. hi all, i'd like to purchase this lovely big laburnum tree that's on ebay but it's in bewdey and i'm in slough. it's a trip of 2 hours 20mins straight down the M40. is anyone coming this way who would be willing/able to pick it up for me? its supposed to be 2m long by 1' diameter. laburnum log for carving | eBay if anyone can help then please get in touch as i'd really like to buy it. thanks in advance.
  17. i'm all for them being reintroduced if it's one that we eradicated years ago, same goes for wolves, brown bear, grey wolf, boar and beaver. if the last two can be reintroduced then why not the others.

  21. split some and i might be able to tell from the timber.
  22. london area and the carving can be on haunches so not 5' long. for a cheaper price it can be smaller at about 12" high x30" long. my mate just wants a carving of a tiger so i said i'd enquire.
  23. once you get yourself going it's not that hard, although it may be more apt to state that it's not too hard to turn, but it's hard to turn well. lets see your first attempts too as most people don't want to put pics of the for anyone else to see but i'll show you mine if you show us yours...
  24. my computer was real slow, i think i would have got there first but it decided to freeze.
