  1. Yeah the husky sweets dont appeal to everyone. Although I seem to have acquired the taste for them! At least you havent tried using them as ear plugs(some poor soul did, credit to him for admitting it though!) the 560 is a very impressive saw:thumbup: I would be very interested in feedback on the breatheflex as they have proven to be extremely popular. We sold out of the popular sizes very quickly but have fortunately received some more stock today but from what I can see there arent that many left in stock in the UK and it might be september before they get more in, so be quick ordering from your dealer if you are after some. Bob, theres no chance I can get the Stihl sweets in too, I am putting on weight as it is:001_rolleyes: Cheers for the nice words fellas, it is still early days for us but sales are constantly on the rise which is all down to you .
  2. Just a quick heads up to say theses helmets have now arrived. Husqvarna Technical Forest Helmet *NEW 2014* - Helmets - Helmets - PPE & Clothing Here is hoping the combi cans wont be far behind!!
  3. Cheers for the feedback, and sorry for the late reply! What do you mean by the handle folds? We dont sell in the volume that the large established retailers sell in but I haven't had any returns with these probs yet. All we have had is, av rear spring, yep its not very strong, well not up to the job anyway. One leaking fuel tank vent and one impulse pipe connector fail. I appreciate the info as it all helps:thumbup1: Our one still gets abused and the bar is looking good and the saw is running strong with not one problem.
  4. Just as a quick note DMM specify NOT to use hot water, it should be lukewarm at best. Otherwise the heat can distort the plastic pusher thing causing sticking problems. They also recommended WD40 or any other silicone based light oil as already mentioned. This was in answer to my question to DMM of using graphite powder as a lube. I think the problem with graphite powder is that it is too easy to add too much. All it needs is a little poof:001_smile:
  5. Its been a while since we had a little giveaway, this one is on our Facebook page. Win a Silky Cap, T-Shirt and Gomtaro Pro Sentei Saw! Wherever you are in the world if you win we will post it! Click on the link below or search for Skyland Equipment in Facebook - and don't forget to like us https://www.facebook.com/skylandequipment
  6. Tbh I would say it might not be the best thing to do. I would imagine the vibration levels to go up but there might be too much strain/pressure/leverage etc on that bolt which could damage the thread in the fuel tank.
  7. I meant to add if you want part choke you need to pull out and lift up but not all the way. This gives part choke and no throttle. To have part choke and part throttle you need to pull out lift up push down all the way then lift up but not all the way! It's best to remove filter and have a mess about.
  8. Out and up is full choke and part throttle. Push the lever down and it knocks the choke off completely but still leaves part throttle. If you remove the air filter you can see the choke butterfly and get a good idea of what's happening. So for a warm start its no choke but part throttle. Not every 560 will need that though, some start fine without having to put part throttle on when warm.
  9. I would probably echo Steve on comments about the saw, nothing but positive from a users POV. Apart from the rear AV spring getting a little twisted the saw has stayed together way better than any 200 ive owned. I would be really interested to hear what parts are falling off, breaking etc. Any info would be very much appreciated.
  10. The vent is a simple two minute job, the impulse pipe is buried a bit further into the saw but its not 4 weeks worth of work!
  11. I cant see any bulletin's about impulse pipe or vent problems. ALthough one of our customers(didnt buy the 540 from us) sent his back to the dealer because of running problems, turned out to be an impulse pipe problem as you described. Ive not spoken to husky about any of the above problems plus there is the possibility that if husky know which batch of saws had the problem they could just contact the dealers that received that batch of saws. Cheers for the info though:thumbup1:
  12. Sorry it was a pdf, here is a pic. Yep from the husky IPL, I bought one in the other day to have a look at it before I removed one from our saw. TBH im not sure how the vent could be faulty as there are really no parts to it that look like they could fail, if that makes any sense! But, if fuel is leaking from it then it sure isnt doing its job!
  13. The vent is part 7 T540XP-Parts-List 20.pdf
  14. Been having a look at our 540 today, it has no fuel leaking issues and is a 2013 week 25 saw so quite an early one. The pipe your pointing at runs through a black elbow connector onto the fuel tank vent. If it is leaking fuel it will cause quite a lot of running and starting problems. The vent is not a one way valve like some other vents, it is made of white plastic and has some kind of metal gauze filter thing which allows air in but no fuel out. It will however draw air and fuel out of the tank if you suck on it! I had our one hung upside down for a good few hours after I had given it a good shaking to build some pressure up in the tank, not a drop of fuel came out of the vent. It is quite easy to remove the vent with a pair of long nose pliers, BUT, I wouldnt try it unless you can afford to have the saw down or have a spare handy because if it gets damaged (and it may well do if it is faulty)it could send quite a bit of fuel out making running even worse. The vent is fitted to loads of other saws and not solely designed for the 540. Part number is 537 35 95-01
  15. For those asking about sizes we have the sizing guide on the web site Arbortec Breatheflex Chainsaw trousers Type A Arbortec Breatheflex Chainsaw trousers Type C
  16. Finally here, not got many in stock though! Petzl Sequoia Harness *NEW* For 2014
  17. Would the Zillon be a more desirable if it was a stand alone item, ie just the mechanical device excluding the rope? It would e cheaper and therefore bring it closer in price to more mainstream current lanyard devices. It is a nice bit of kit but I can see that around 2 times the price of the current most popular lanyard devices it is pushing itself out there. Has anyone used one and would like to comment on its + and - ? Negative comments (well, constructive ones) are what push products forward so IMO are the most important ones.
  18. What does the 63 code stand for? Well finally got some in stock Stihl Chain Picco Super 3/8P 1.3mm *NEW* Fits, MS201T, MS200T, 020T - Stihl - Chains - Consumables Everyone I asked hadnt even heard of it never mind used it. It's got to be better than the PS3.
  19. Looks like its going to be mid May now! Does look like theres quite a lot of improvements on the old can, although that wouldnt be difficult to achieve. They are coming in just under £30 so its the same price as the old ones, dont think theres any room for an AT discount, well not on just one anyway.
  20. Hopefully AA techie bloke will see this and have some info. IIRC this new attempt to ban is coming from Europe whereas previously i think it was the UK HSE having a go.
  21. There was a Husqvarna newsletter about this last year. It it's being pushed for from what I remember and husky where taking it very seriously. I'll have to see if there is any more info. I think I will finally give up tree work if it happens.
  22. On the stihl web site it says the ultra is JASO-FD, ISO-L-EGD. Fuel/oil ratio 1:50. but in the catalogue its says JASO-FB, ISO-L-EGB! They do use the ultra in their motomix. I dont stock the ultra so I cant say what it says on the bottle. Anyway this is detracting from the OP question so sorry for any derailing or misleading info. Best if I leave it up to someone else to confirm I think.
  23. Ooops, sorry:blushing: Yep your correct on that one. I knew I shouldnt have typed it out, I had been though all of this with a customer through the week(the weird ratings) checked twice and still typed it out wrong. Although I have the HP super down as a semi synthetic but I will be treble checking on that one. In regards to the OP tbh im not sure about running the ULtra at 33:1. I presume the ultra is a very good high quality oil and would have no problem running at 50:1 in the XP saws and that the recommendation of 33:1 is to cover mainly using a non brand poorer oil. Ill have to check what Stihl recommend ie are they saying the same about 33:1 using FB?
  24. No problem Sam.
  25. One of the lads (old mate and customer in shop) was telling us he snapped a phone line a few weeks ago, bill of around £750!!! Its no surprise his employer isnt too happy about it. So be warned, it use to be the best end of £200(it use to be free to drop the lines once!!), seems to have risen quite a bit.
