  1. I'm after a new LED head torch. Nothing too bulky but must be bright. Dimmable would be handy. Any recommendations appreciated. Craig
  2. Spot on Scotty! Chilledbud if I was you mate I would steer well clear of whoever is trying to sell that pile of crap to you for£400. There's putting a bit on....and taking the piss. As someone else has said, you're having your pants pulled down mate!!
  3. Bloody hell, the OP asked about whether laser boresighters were any good, and got a lesson in internal/external ballistics! Ha ha. Spin drift and coriolis effect, I doubt they will come into effect at normal zeroing distances???
  4. Matelot- Some good info and reviews here... http://www.reloaderaddict.com/best-laser-bore-sighter-review/
  5. Bob I think your getting a bit confused mate. When you zero a rifle, you adjust the sights/scope and MOVE the MPI onto the correct zero position (CZP). The CZP will vary dependant on calibre and the distance you will expect to shoot at. The CZP will give u shot placement in your kill zone over differing distance and allow you to engage inside these variables and your shot should be inside that kill zone. Faster calibre's/ammo will give a flatter trajectory over variable distance. With a scope that has ballistic turrets you adjust the elevation drum to the given/estimated range to target. This should give you point of aim-point of impact at all ranges. Bullets don't fly in an arc horizontally but are affected by variables such as wind. When you zero, dependant on the range you zero at, the bullet will cross the line of sight in two places. These ranges will be dependant on the height of the scope above the barrel. For example if you correctly zero your rifle at 100yds, point of aim point of impact (point blank) you will also have point of aim point of impact at perhaps 30yds. If you know this, you can accurately use a laser bore sighter to 'check zero' at 30yds before you go shooting. We have all had the frustration of a poor shot due to loose scope mounts or knocking the scope. The laser boresighter is not a replacement to zeroing but certainly a handy aid, for initially setting a rifle/scope up and checking zero. The military use a similar system with a collimator. This is used to check zero before firing and also on operations. It is deemed accurate enough to be used in court as admissible evidence that a weapon was correctly zeroed. 👍Cdo
  6. "To zero a weapon properly, you need to be firing in groups of 5 rounds and taking the mean point of impact as zero" I take it you mean adjust the MPI onto the correct zero position? Also 3 round group is fine for zeroing, any more is a luxury with the price of ammo!! As already said the laser bore sighter is great at getting you onto the target, the more expensive ones are pretty accurate too.
  7. Nice one Kev, that made me giggle!!😉
  8. Yeah but labs are lazy whereas a spaniel will work till it drops! Nothing hunts like a spaniel...."Incoming" ha ha
  9. Not really the right time to be looking for beating unless your dog is steady and as Stubby said, will come on the recall whistle. If the dog ain't steady you will blow its mind with all the scent on a shoot. What have u done with the dog so far, what stage of training is it at? Cdo
  10. Nice one! Right tool for the job springs to mind!
  11. No belly plate, does that help? I'm thinking of an exhaust mod, the exhaust is currently directed down onto the deck so blows dust and grass up and gets sucked into rad. Just wondered if anyone else had similar problems and come up with a simple fix. Thx Craig
  12. Ino Elite L 1.5m
  13. I think the clean fix system is pricey?
  14. My only real complaint with the AGT850 is that when flailing (reverse drive) the rad needs to be cleaned every 30mins or so as it gets clogged with grass, and will overheat. RRPITA!! Anyone else struggling with this and if so any fixes? Thx Cdo
  15. Cheers👍
  16. I'm looking for a new light saw to partner my 357xp, what's the recommended bar length on a 390? Thx Cdo
  17. Yep way to go👍 Belt and braces option is buy a Grenadier Electric poker or heat gun and warm the stove for a couple of minutes. Basically the cold flue is not drawing, get it warm and you'll be away!! Cdo
  18. A new Morso!😳😫
  19. Which new Morso do you mean and define better in this case?
  20. 👍 Cheers Mate
  21. Jon that hilux must have had a problem. My 3l auto pulls like a train. It sits at 80mph all day and will still pull. How do u know that the 2016 model won't have adjustable seat height? Do u need a pickup? Sounds like an LC3 Prado might suit if it's just for pulling a tin tent??
  22. Yes Jon, significantly cheaper. It's strange they hold such good money used, got to admit this one looked like new when I sold it.
  23. Well said Kev.....👍
  24. I sold my 12 year old Vision 500 for £800, fully reconditioned and oddly that needed a new baffle and bricks too. It had never been overheated and only burnt seasoned wood. Great stoves!
  25. How come Jon.....is it made by Toyota?😉
