  1. I think it's a recommendation not HSE law? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  2. As far as I'm aware you can't buy field dressings, celox or tourniquet in a chemist. eBay cheapest place. But without training..... Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  3. I have Aspirin in mine, headaches, hangovers and heart attack! ;-) Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  4. Because if you get a big bleed ie saw bite you won't have time to get down! Immediate first aid is exactly that...preserve life. Chemists primarily sell first aid kits to treat small cuts and bruises, headaches etc. The sort of injury that your personal kit should be able to deal with is a catastrophic injury (ie life threatening). If its not then get down and use the one in the vehicle.
  5. Better to make something up yourself. As Andy Mac said get at least 1 FFD or even better two. Also a CAT Tourniquet and a Celox type of dressing. Then get some training on how to use them! That's everything you need to stop a catastrophic bleed until the emergency service arrives. Things like plasters and aspirin can be kept in your vehicle med kit.
  6. This is the sort of public information that should be available to all, thought the BBC was supposed to pass this sort of thing on, thats one of the excuses they give when challenged about the licence fee!
  7. Just found out some interesting facts about using 112 instead of 999 to dial emergency services. Basically 112 allows you to use any network from your phone and will even override a busy network! Good to know when the blood hits the fan!! Short video to explain, well worth a watch..
  8. And most importantly...Surface!
  9. Late in cold damp West Devon, but still stunning!!
  10. Their out!
  11. Thanks for all the advice, think I'll go with the Echo. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  12. Ha Yeah looking back wasn't the nicest place but probably better than now. I lived in Greenfields Rd off meath green. My m8 farmed at Landens. Happy Days!
  13. These beam alarms look like exactly what you want. They can be used the either trigger a bell or flashing light or even send a SMS message etc. Bit pricey at £230! There are others on eBay cheaper. http://www.alarmsforfarms.com/active-solar-gateway-alarm-with-dialler-140-p.asp http://www.alarmsforfarms.com/ekmps/shops/alarmsforfarms/resources/Other/gateway-alarms.pdf
  14. Ha Ha yes have thought about that, I have the usual 50+ aches and pains!! Where are u in Horley, I was born and bred there.
  15. The difference in price is only about £40 so tempted to go with the Echo as its been a bit more tried and tested?? Unless the Tanaka is a better machine??
  16. I'm after a power pruner. I'm thinking Echo PPT265ES, however my supplier is saying go Tanaka TPS-270S, he says same quality but less money?? Any thoughts please. Cheers Cdo
  17. Fair point Richard but im trying to tick many boxes with one machine, I think whats been suggested is that a 360 can achieve most of what I want and certainly more than a loader alone. Agreed it would be painful tracking by the bucket but I already have an alpine and trailer (soon) so can use the 360 to load the trailer. The alpine really doesn't suit a loader so I'd end up with another tractor and still not have the digging facility. Also been suggested that the 360 will be more stable. Craig
  18. Thanks for that Jim, looks like thats the way to go. Hopefully catch up at CLA this year? Thanks to everyone for the advice, keep it coming please!! Craig
  19. Hi Jim i already have an AGT850 from you. All of my land is pretty steep and the alpine is the way to go. However I am after a loader and as pointed out, fitting one to an alpine probably isn't the best route to go down. I also have a fair bit of digger work to do, drainage, ditching etc. So i'm looking at options. Initial thoughts were to purchase a used backhoe for the alpine and get a separate cheap loader tractor. Or perhaps look at something like a mid sized Kubota with loader and backhoe (expensive!). I hadn't thought of going down the 360 route but am now wondering if it could do everything I need on the loader side too ie loading dung, grading, moving stone/soil etc. Doobin, Difflock, you are swaying me towards the 360!! What sort of money would a reliable machine cost me, recommendations? As a matter of interest, what sort of weight will a1.5/3 tonne 'swinger' lift? Any advice appreciated. Many Thanks Craig
  20. Many thanks for the advice all. Also looking at a Kubota or similar, complete with loader and backhoe, a lot more money but fitting a loader to an alpine is supposedly NOT the way to go! Would be a useful tool but....... Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  21. I am thinking of buying a backhoe to fit on the back of my AGT850 Alpine. I have some ditching, drainage and building work to crack. Wondering if a linkage mounted backhoe is a good idea or a bad one?? Thinking a PTO driven version will be better option than hydraulics off the tractor? Any advice appreciated! Cdo.
  22. Just think what they could have spent the wasted £330k on.....Perhaps caring properly for some of the animals in their care!! If you are into hunting, shooting or fishing and give them donations, you must be mad! They have lost their way and are out to see the end of all field sports and fishing. RSPCA criticised by judge for wasting 'valuable' court time by calling off Hunting Act prosecution at 11th hour - Telegraph
  23. I had the guys from Glendale (For Western Power) trim out under the 11kv lines over my land. Good bunch of lads, and did a good sensitive job. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

Many (not all) RSPCA inspectors believe they are Animal Rights police. There is a huge difference between animal welfare and animal rights. The RSPCA has in many cases overstepped the mark and need to be put firmly back in their place. If they want to continue their political stance then remove their charity status and Royal patronage. 25. Get in touch with the Countryside Alliance. The RSPCA have turned from an animal welfare charity into an animal rights political organisation. They need to lose their charity status and become more accountable. Shocking!!
