  1. Surely that is way past the witness mark on that blade shown??
  2. An app which Geo maps trees by placing the phone on the tree and pressing OK. Options to input information for surveys. Back office to create mapping info for documents with potential to create maps on Google for global access by multiple parties. Or just one that locates the local café
  3. Push your body but not your mind. Look think act. Safety over productivity. Above all, im with Steve, no prating around while on site.
  4. Go and buy a big shot - you will not be disappointed - I used mine on the same day I purchased it to access a 25m Beech tree for inspection - 2nd shot I had a line 20 - 22m up - perfect and saved so much time! You need to buy the head, base pole and extension poles separately - the poles are used for pruning tools too so mega handy Big Shot Head | F R Jones and Son Jameson base pole section | F R Jones and Son Jameson extension pole sections | F R Jones and Son
  5. Personally, given the high risk targets i'd recommend removal and plant something different. However that's just going off of a photo which is never the best thing to do.
  6. Check ya thtree facebook account and you will find a copy in ya message box
  7. Purchased one a few months back and love it! Superb build quality, excellent design. The letter box inlet to the blades allow it to punch above its weight and it feeds lovely. Being that it has a petrol engine instead of a diesel it does take a second or two longer to bounce back on the no stress but its no different to its competitors. We have used it on loads of jobs since these two videos but these give you an idea of its capabilities
  8. A few from the last 12 months, mostly used on Facebook and website since
  9. Of course if the shackles are worn and the harness in date still then you can replace them with a new pair Find them here: Pair of shackles for Komet anchorage strap | F R Jones and Son
  10. It will Void the CE mark on the harness if you modify the product with a non original part which was not made purposely for that item. I am not sure how it would stand with LOLER examination but i am sure someone will pop up with further info.
  11. Thank you to everyone who replied. David the contact you supplied forwarded my email on and eventually, 3 people down the line, we have the details for the area manager required. So massive thank you. Cheers all. J
  12. Spot on, I will give him a mail, thank you David
  13. Here is the tree / site. The road is actually a station approach, not massively busy and the tree is being re-pollarded so did wonder if we could get away without full tm with signs and barriers its just the bus stop thats the issue with it.
  14. I have a potential job coming up in Sidcup where the tree is right next to a bus stop - actually Transport For London (TFL) put the stop next to the tree a few months back and then stuck a sign before it saying low trees - duh! Anyway, how does one apply to move the bus stop for the day? One of those nice temporary bus stop signs is needed etc. Does anyone know which department or contact to ask about this within TFL? Thanks in advance James
  15. enjoyable film but such a shame all the same

Look an interesting program, which is probably suited to bigger companies than my own. Most of the stuff it does I do anyway and thats a saving of £600 back into my pocket, do you need it??
  19. Ive reported it again, for what its worth. I cant work out why oh why ebay can't write an algorithm which stops the posting of outside email addresses! They rely on the public to filter the listings rather than protecting the buyer from the offset.
  20. Cheers Harvey Pages can like Pages, Profiles can like Pages, but Pages cannot befriend Profiles (hope that makes sense) You can always promote another page through copying the page URL and sharing it as a link via your own page newsfeed? Pages are sometimes tricky to find on facebook, although its probably easier once you have the direct url path (eg http://www.facebook.com/kent.gardening) which you can only have once you have X amount of page likes.
  21. Ive liked your page Harvey - fine looking log stores you have there Garden Kits facebook is - https://www.facebook.com/pages/Garden-Kit/741919342491375 J
  22. Id buy one just for a chuckle if anything else - would certainly stop me moaning about the kid riding his bike on the lawn prior to me mowing it lol
  23. It is slow to build an audience. I know Ian Flatters of Target trees has done a lot of audience building using alternative subject matter to get shares on peoples time lines. This basically involves posting pics of fluffy animals and cute things to get people to like and share them, and therefore more page likes. I assume this has worked since his page likes have rocketed. Personally if I did this I know most of my followers would question the reason for posting such a subject matter. Needs must I suppose. Facebook is the largest known community on the planet, social media is the future, but obviously it depends on your target demographic as to if its totally suitable as a marketing tool. I believe it is for the ones with technological knowledge to fly it, but its not going to work for mrs Jones down the road who doesn't have internet access and who's laptop holds her dinner on the lap and not a window on the world. J
  24. Out of interest, did you receive a letter of acknowledgement from the LPA for the application? If you did then it should have a case number - just phone them and ask direct what the situation with the application is?
  25. How easy does that pull? Was thinking of similar idea when I build one this winter using front wheels of a ride on mower - was thinking that it would be less ground pressure but I assume it takes more pulling? I might well make mine so it can be towed behind a lawn tractor too...
