  1. Great news Justin, onwards and upwards guys well done
  2. +1 for Haemmerlin galvanised, think I paid 45 quid for the last one in BnQ, good and stong for most applications. Reminds me, I need to buy another new one as the other one is giving up, that's been going 6 years. J
  3. Sounds a fair price, glad you got it sorted
  4. Other than Micks spot on advice... Make sure the description is detailed and correct, add tags to it when uploading to ensure it turns up in search engines and above all give it a proper and correct title not just 'video10138' for example. Good luck
  5. PG platforms - Cherry Picker Hire Kent, Access Platform Hire London, Essex CW plant - Powered Access Two companies for you if nobody else has one on here.
  6. First one would be good for getting my lunch box off
  7. What he said Well done on getting set up and a client base going. Try and develop those clients as much as possible, maintain what they have and suggest things to do as you go along. Be confident without being pushy. Diversify as much as possible. I diversified into tree surgery and look where that got me Keep a tight handle on finances, do your accounting at the end of each month and highlight areas where you can save money early on. Set aside money for a rainy day fund (apt given the weather today). Putting aside £10 or £20 per week to a savings account soon adds up and then its there if you need to replace a machine or take up the slack of a lean period. Above all, enjoy being your own boss PS - i have a waste carriers license too - as I do gardening as well and we move all sorts of waste off of site at times and its not worth the risk
  8. Yes it is, subject to a 211, but yes there is a piece of sizeable timber going once it has been felled. James
  9. Of course it is! I knew that in the back of the brain, I'm blaming water ingress! Thanks Graham
  10. Hi all Is this Bay Laurel? If yes is the correct Latin 'Laurus nobilis'? If no - what is it? Cheers J
  11. That looks like a nice combo but guess its only good for road use really, or where you can get the mewp to the tree, no good for us as most of our work is back gardens. The Yankee truck looks a beast but again no good around kent - it wouldnt fit in most peoples drives!
  12. Just moved to Trust, certainly helpful and competitive.
  13. I much prefer burger king... Rubbish being strewn across the country from fast food outlets is far more complex than just Mcdonalds wrappers. Its the mentality of some of younger generation these days born out of the throw away society. It need to stop and the number plate idea is a good one.
  14. Fair do's, afraid I can't wait that long but will consider it once they are in anyway. J
  15. Rob do you have a sugi bar to fit an echo 8000? wanted ~ 30" bar / chain combo?
  16. Its all in how you layer it, the OP said Bacon and egg, bacon on the bottom, egg, then a crack of salt and pepper to flavour the egg, simples
  17. If offered i'll take either if theres a sarnie going begging If i'm making it, these days i prefer a crack of salt and pepper on it. If me old man makes one, its always brown sauce..
  18. Long left the scrapping idea behind 18 months ago, this is an old post I have re-opened
  19. Cheers guys, will have a look around, thinking a 32" bar on it since I read it has lots of torque?
  20. Well... I finally have a work bench... yayyy The saw is coming apart this week for a proper look, hoping to have it back up and running, keen to have a project on the go on the new bench lol Will post up some pics this week. J
  21. I have an Arborist 130, but if and when a CS100 comes up for sale at a sensible price I will buy one too. There are some jobs where the chip can be left on site, or its just a pollard, shrub pruning or annual dogwood coppicing where a little Gloria would be perfick!
  22. Summer job after school was working on Lord Harris's estate (before he sold it to an American) of Carpet right fame... different Ferrari for each day of the week
  23. Make the jump, you won't look back! I did and it was the best decision ever! Anyway I just wanted to make another point. Depending on the scale of what you are doing it may be worth looking at the smaller chippers like the timberwolf 125 or greenmech 130. You need to consider your business plan and costings for monthly repayments. If you have this money available in a lump sum it is better (in my experience) to NOT pay out in one lump and instead spread the cost. This way you will have capital for other stuff (such as a box structure on the truck once you have it) and also give you a fall back when work is lean. If you, like me, plan to do other stuff other than just tree surgery then look at a smaller chipper - the greenmech i mentioned above is featured here in this short video I did of ours, keep meaning to do more but never have the time! 24. No brainer... its greenmech green... crack on
  25. Think the japanese would pay fortunes for this one for the cherry blossom festivals Great find
