  1. Air leak. Could be crank seals. A pressure test will get this tested. Try the exhaust aswell. If it has a spark arrestor screen this could be blocked. But sounds like an air leak in the system where its getting too much air and dying out. This is compensated by the choke restricting air flow into the engine. Of course it could be a lack of fuel issue but if you have checked and cleaned the carb it only leaves the fuel tank filter. Or the fuel tank vent.
  2. Nope don't like it.............. There is a picture of a husky in it:001_tt2::001_tt2::lol: Seriously a good looking website that.
  3. Husky have hacked stihls computers and sent the policy change update out just before releasing there new topper.:lol::lol:
  4. Oh no.... Ok make and model please. We are not dentists. As in no fuel on plug? So no fuel in saw. Fuel filter? Fuel pipe to carb? Impulse line? Fuel in fuel tank? Fuel tank vent? Please someone stop me...
  5. Pah. Who needs special tools.:lol: Yeah thanks Eddie. Don't think I will buy one yet as I don't get many husky saws in. I'm going on the piston being the problem for now until I get the carb tweaked. It's a classic worn ring issue, gets hot and dies, won't restart until cool or on full choke but soon dies again.
  6. Hmmm got idea.,they didn't move with a small flats screwdriver it the pipe idea may work. Will have a look.
  7. Ok. I need a husky 435 piston kit. Looked on the bay but nothing but USA. No good. Anyone got sites. Not sure if meteor do one. Well have o have a look.
  8. That's true Steve. I would still like to see a copy of the policy. Just for my own interest really.
  9.:lol: Would it make dialling any quicker??? But I would miss every call what with the saws running all the time.
  10. I would just like to see the exact policy stihl have come up with.
  11. Ok. The husky is now top of the list. Ts400 is done and dusted. The husky is a 435, it will start and run no problem, get warm and die out. Only start again if cold or on choke, but soon die out again. Looked into exhaust and o scoring there. Comp is also fine. So next move, remove the piston and measure rings. Fuel is fine and its always getting it. I do have one question. How do you adjust the high low screws, they don't have slots in but like a spline edge on them. Don't get it. Not enough room to get pliers or the like. Anyway. This morning I was cleaning up a diesel storage tank. Outside using a needle gun. Never used one before, what an awesome bit of kit. Much better than an angle grinder with a wire brush on it.
  12. Sorry more aimed at the chip. But hardened steel can still break. If it was in an envelope and got bent it could snap it. Bu the huge box is a little over the top. A shoebox would have been better or a FedEx slim box.
  13. Can't help with the door but an underseal product is normall good. Spray if you have a compressor and gun, if not then its the brush on stuff. Underseal is a good product IMO.
  14. Got to love Hayter mowers.............. There somewhere in the same line as mtd ride ons On anothe rote Barrie any news on that belt?
  15. The problem is if it had come in an envelope and it was damaged in transit you would have a different thread on here and the company would have to pay for the return of the broken part and then ship out another. So the cost of returns and shipping way out ways the cost of extra packing.
  16. My guess would be the fuel tank vent is blocked on the first one. Tis would stop fuel getting to the carb. Either this or fuel line broken or blocked filter. But I would check the tank vent first. Remove the fuel pipe from carb and first blow down it, carefull as if tank vent is working it will blow fuel, back up pipe at you. If tank is empty then you can suck it (have a mint handy) or use a vac tester, it should allow air up fuel pipe from tank but not down it. The second one, remove plug and try and pull it over, if this doesn't work remove chain cover and look at the clutch, expose clutch and try and pull over. Other one is remove pull start assembly to flywheel and then try running over gently with a spanner on flywheel nut.
  17. Can't fault them on the packaging tho.
  18. Done a horse box brake discs and pads today. Done by 2 so a nice break now before hitting the husky tomoz.
  19. All I can say is Justin and honey bros you clever boys you......
  20. Same reply I had the other day tcd. Heard nothing more. So is all this bull or is it a bit of fact. Can anyone post the exact note they had from stihl?
  21.:lol::lol: I will be on the lookout for you wearing this.:001_tongue::biggrin::001_tt2: That's got to last maybe 5mins. Sorry. If it works or you then fine.
  22. Nope. And I don't think they will. Nothing about it on there site either. I've not had a reply to my email either to them.
  23. Anyone got a link to honey bros website and the stihl info they have on there. I've been through the whole site and can see nothing about it all.
  24. As far as I know aftermarket are actually fine as they don't carry the stihl name as such. Plus that would be a lot for stihl to try and stop. Means meteor wouldn't be able to sell there pistons. And somehow I can't see that happening.
  25. What he said. Springs. But get them online quick before the 3rd:lol:
