  1.:lol: Sometimes I really wish there was a way to show what goes through my head at these times. Now I have a video I'm my head of mr gardenkit walking in the room just after and me turning around whistling to myself.:lol: Been busy Barrie. Not see much of you on here latly?
  2. Think he has knocked off early, well you know the older they get the less they can stay up late. And the more the cizzer gets to them quicker, :001_tt2::lol::lol::lol:
  3. Everything is fine other than the breather. That I have yet to check. I know th slump is ok as it pumps when the cap is open. Just not getting enough oil to it. Take the pump off and next to nothing comes through to where the pump should be. Yet the filter is clean. May remove the filter for a further test. Think I know the one trick over the pump already.
  4. Excellent. Please keep posted. Did try calling you other day. Not sure what was going on with that cm220???? Confused the hell out of me.
  5. I've had straight fixes all day bud. Really easy ones to start. This one I intentionally left to the end. :001_tt2: Yeah your right by the way. Fuel vent is the pipe with grub screws in it. Oil is the small one. It's just not giving out oil. Loosen the cap and it does come out. Not as much as it should but then the saw is on its side with the cap off. Hey if they where all easy what would be the point on coming on here and annoying you. Like to think I'm not the only one that will be up all night thinking about why a saw doesn't work like it should. Could be worse. I could sound like this..... Aspen Aspen Aspen Aspen Aspen Aspen Aspen Aspen Aspen Aspen Aspen Aspen Aspen Aspen Aspen Aspen Aspen Aspen Aspen Aspen Aspen Aspen Aspen Aspen Aspen Aspen Aspen Aspen Aspen Aspen :lol::lol: sorry Barrie
  6. It will be jets. There isn't any high low screws unless someone has changed it. Strip it down and give it a clean. Chances are its crap in the jets causing not enough fuel to travel at full throttle. And it quitting.
  7. With you. Have seen those vents before. Don't like them either. The one you gave me on part number is the fuel tank vent. As I thought. The long pipe looks like it goes down recoil side of the saw. Cheers people.
  8. I've got a Kawasaki with exactly the same problem. I've moved away from carb as I've tried another carb on it and the problem goes away. The next move for me is to strip is down and check the rings and piston out. But this might not be your problem. My one is a very different model to yours unless someone has used a different carb on yours.
  9.:lol: A small confession. I was calling you this out loud for a month or two until one day I actually read the name properly :blushing: Sorry Jon.
  10. Bugger, just relised that's not it. That's the fuel tank one. The fuel tank is above the oil tank on these (as you know). So that one being up that high will be for fuel tank not oil tank. But saying that there is a vent inserts and such like things on the front. Part number 1117 350 5800 This is getting confusing now. Will check both out tomoz. Getting a headache now.
  11. Cheers spud. I've looked everywhere I can without removing the handles and everything else. I've checked the parts lists and diagrams I have. Looks like that number is just called a valve. It's in the area under the throttle control rod and earth short connections under the air box. Will have a good nose. Oh and I love the 048, for some reason its just one of those saws that I absolutly love. Don't mind the weight and reckon I could use it all day long no problems. A heavy bugger yes, but what a beast.
  12. Ok. Will have a good look over it tomoz. Didn't want to take the saw apart to try and find it today so thought I would ask. Found everything except where this stupid oil tank breather is.
  13. Thanks very much for that ray. I have one question. I've read all that can't see the oil tank vent in it anywhere. Exept in the fault finding and it says to clean it not where it is. Ryan. Forst thing I checked when I removed it for cleaning.
  14. Yep ditto. No point going that deep into a machine and not changing them.
  15. Will look into the IPL for it. I havnt got a manual or a parts list for the 048av.
  16. Happy birthday Jon. Oh and the wurzels rock...
  17. When I win the lottery moments. Wild delivery arctic loads in any weather. And anywhere.
  18. The gauntlet has been thrown. Will it be picked up?.
  19. Maybe some contact details may help? 07521111599 [email protected]
  20. A busy day. An old Flymo two stroke to look at. Was left for years with fuel in. Cleaned and tuned. Ms200t. Retuned. 028 chain creap. Cleaned out and all fine. Hedgecutter sharpened . Now the pain one. A 048av. Wasn't oiling. Removed pipe and filter. Cleaned out. Cleaned pump and all channels with it. Have a small amount of oil but not a lot. So thinking tank vent, can anyone tell where to find it?? Got a bit lost.
  21. Looking for some ground work. Need to get out of the workshop for a few days in the next two weeks sometime. Cs30/31. And a landy. If I stay in the workshop too long I will get fat. South east kent area but can travel within reason.
  22. Or the axle would lock up after a few hundred meters.
  23. I would love to tell you I'm joking I really would. Hence why only a few are actually good RNLI mechanics. And there the ones with a background. I actually know more than one or two mechanics at the station. Sadly its turned into a VDU operator rather than an actual mechanics job.
  24. No they shouldn't. Have you got the right grade of oil in it?
