  4. Jon is at an advantage as the mods don't get him either. He could post anything and get away with it. I can just about understand it but do need to think about some stuff. It's all good Jon.
  5. I think he is hinting to you there spud.:lol:
  6. Did you read the forum before finding this? It's already been done on a thread not that long ago. I can see this becoming a yawn moment.
  7. Been hearings this song a lot on the radio and thought I would do a search on YouTube for it. Got to say as an inspirational video and tune this is in the top for me. Outstanding. 8. Yeah and look at the bids again. I actually feel for this guy now. He is genuinely trying to sell the car.
  9. Oh ok. I would look at this, but the way the dust was packed in that tight I don't think it was just sucked in.
  10. Erm. It comes on under Neath by the choke valve in sure of it. Everywhere else creates a seal around the handle and carb plate between the cylinder. I have asked customer and the only thing we can think is the box was working loose, and the operator just tightened it up when he noticed, the operator is a climber and a good saw operator apparantly, so doubt if he ran it without the box on.
  11. :blushing: Hey there is good money to be had on dirty underwear. Seen how much the women's ones go for.:lol::lol:
  12. Well that's an easy one. It should be spares or repair as it is incomplete and with the MAIN safety feature removed it is in need of repair or skipping.
  13. Ok. S back on the 048 av. Forget the carb boot its fine. Was my worst fear but its fine. The saw was revving high and to calming down when throttle released. Took the air box cover off and it was packed tight with saw dust, and I mean packed, so much so that the throttle linkage and carb wouldn't move once put on full and the choke butterfly would also not close. So the saw wouldn't start from cold. Now I've had a good look at it and there is no gaps or cracks where that much saw dust could get in. It was chain sawdust not the fine stuff that normally gets in. So was this saw run without the cover on? I'm thinking it was. I've used a 048av a fair few times and I have never seen this with my one. Spud I know you used to use one a lot have you ever had this? Just trying to get to the cause of it. If the saw was used on its side cutting the last bit at ground level and pushed through the pile of sawdust that usually builds up at the base of the tree would this do it? But then there would have to be a big gap in the cover for the sawdust to get through? Well have to call the customer tonight and ask him. I do know he made the mistake with it and lent it out.
  14. To be honest I wouldn't look into the piston just yet. If the plug was dry then you are not getting fuel and this does need attention. The scoring on the piston may or may not be bad. So you could chase that and not get the fuel issue sorted. Sort the fuel and get the plug wet. Then if the saw doesn't run right look into the piston. Anything under 150psi is not good, but a saw will run on slightly less than this.
  15. Not if the carb is blocked or diaphragms are shot.
  16. Yeah tell me about it. I was kind iof hoping here would be one more available that would fit from something else. Anyway I did notice I put this in the wrong thread meant to put it I the bench t hread:blushing:.
  17. Could of just put a bit of fuel down the carb and see if it fires. No fuel, blocked carb. Remove carb and clean it out. If old fuel left in could have gunked up, if you used aspen this wouldn't be an issue... I would pull the carb and dismantle it, clean it out and check the diaphragms are ok. While carb off check fuel lines and pressure test the tank. Then check impulse lines are clear and doing what they should.
  18. Your cs tickets will normally be using an ms260 or the husky equlivant. Normally a 60cc saw. Best to try and get the same you would use on your course then you will be familiar with it. Do the course and see what saw you use then look for the same saw after.
  19. Persevere, swear, throw the pliers, have a fag (if you smoke) and a tea. Go back and try again. If that fails swear some more, give up and try again tomoz.:lol: They are a real pita, think I have the knack to them now, but still struggle.
  20. That's good. Look at the views on the bottom of the page.
  21. Ok. So a bit stuck. Need a 048 carb boot. Anyone got there IPL handy. The part is obsolete. What others would fit?
  22. Oh man. Ok puke smilie won't work. Thought I was back on the lifeboat again. Did the camera ever get moved. Important thing over time lapse is never move the camera unless you are 100% sure its back where it was.
