  1. Took blooming ages setting them up for the pics. And I had one thought. There is not one vehicle there I havnt worked on. Oh and that's me walking away. Can you send the pic of standing in front of the lorry with the 088 mate
  2. Me quiet............ Never. Hahahahahaahahaha.(evil laugh) My job is to fix, if he doesn't want it fixed I will be disappointed. Oh and I used a husky 350 or 352 can't remember the exact number. Didn't pay much attention. And I still don't like them. The speed of the chain without much grunt in the cut. Seems the chain spins too fast to actually cut anything..... Will still always pick up a stihl of I have the choice. Husky suck. :001_tt2::lol::lol:
  3. No the idle screw is just that. For the idle speed. Leave it on this one, will get a response from the techs. Could be an air leak. Have you put the carb kit in the right way round? Sounds silly but bear with me. If it fires on choke then another possible is an air leak in the system. Bung a tablespoon of fuel straight into intake and see what happens. After trying to start is the plug wet? Oh and is the manifold from carb to port on the right way up?
  4. Yeah yeah yeah. Carefull or your head won't fit through the door. Just looked up the price for a new pump. Sheesh.... The engine out doesn't look too bad as it comes out in one. Clam shell engine. But the price of a new one, maybe not a pcn4040 bit the next model is only 130. So just waiting for a nod if it is to be done or not. To be honest the engine is sound. Runs well and has some grunt to it. For how long who knows. Anyway, I'm sure I said I was going off you before. :001_tt2:
  5. At a guess I would say the same tune up on any exhaust modded saw. I suppose it beats having to open the exhaust up and do it that way.
  6. Wish I could tag people in posts like Facebook, Wild tag D A tree surgeons. He well into his cycling and that spin class thing. I will have to find an old bike and build him one. Could do logging and exercise at the same time. Would be more productive than paying to ride a bike.
  7. Only if you are bringing any with you. Wink. But the pretzel ones weren't liked that much. The peanut butter ones went down very well. Ran out about 4 days after they arrived. Just let me know a price and I will be sure to have some money for you set aside. Might even just offer them up at the meet in the evening.
  8. Looking forward to meeting the man in July. And a pint on me in the evening ted. For sending the m and m over. Top man.
  9. Ok. Spent an hour on it. Although the engine is running very well. The oil is not. So cleaned the tank, cleaned the lines. Removed exhaust for this. Removed the clutch and everything else. The clutch has a very handy arrow saying what way to turn to remove the clutch. Removed the drive for the pump an ethics looks ok. But when looked into the crank area and turned the pump with a small flat screwdriver there is a worn part on the gear. The teeth on he gear disappear at a certain pint of rotation. So done the small trick by packing out with some grease and started the saw up. Oil was pouring out. So for just under an hour of my time I have found the problem without removing the entire engine. And yes I can see how much its going to cost to replace it. Dropped a call to the customer earlier and left a message. We will see.
  10. I do agree Tom. It will need investigation if it hasn't already. But let's not forget that most these type of things end up getting out of hand and full of red tape. And this will hinder the way arb folk work. We all have common sense yet HSE have to allow for idiots, this effects everyone.
  11. Just have to reverse the pump when blowing down it. I was going to remove the pipes and blow down from between pump and tank so any crud on the tank side of filter gets blown off then cleaned out. If I can I will just pull pipe and filter out of tank in one. Then clean it right out or replace it. Not willing to replace it tho until I get the ok to service and fix it. If that makes sense? By reversing the pump anything that gets blown into it goe back out the way it came in.
  12. Had a quick look at the 4040. Bar and cover completely gunked up. Cleaned out the oil channel aswell. Started the saw up and smoked myself out. Air filter also blocked up. There is some oil coming out when running. Not much but its there. So going to clean the tank out. Spud looking at the saw are you sure you can't just remove the exhaust to get to the oil pipes? Looks like you can. Will remove it later and clean the pipes and blow back down the filter. Sending an hour on it to begone with before going any further.
  13. That was the docs recommendation. A few days of each food. It will take longer but there should be any improvement if only a little one. And there definatly hasn't. It's strange and sorry to share this bit but my bowels arnt regular either. And I could set my watch by my movements. Anyway moving off topic and will get told off. Mouldy spores in wood chip bad. Nice freshly chipped wood good.
  14. Ok. It's horrible I can tell you and it is effecting my eating. If I don't eat by 6-7pm I won't eat at all. Skip breakfast aswell, this just makes me feel ill by ten. But once working I will eat as I'm on empty. Bloated and feel sick until about four. Doesn't matter on time of day or so far what I eat, had a couple of days without eating bread, no change, also skipped meat, dairy, veg, fruit, not all at once but one around the other. Wasn't easy. But nothing has made a difference. Need to book docs again. Also blood tests came back with nothing. Might look into the chip stuff but not dealt with any for a while.
  15. Yep weals disease. Had the whole talk and what not on everything on grain stores when I used to clean them. I used to get very tight chested at that time of year. I used to wear masks, but the problems came about when I used to walk out the grain store, thinking I was out the danger zone, remove the mask so I could breath again, then dust myself off. This was a mistake. Keep the mask on until well clear of he store. As the dust isn't always visible at the doorway. And also when brushing off the dust would be there again. And OSR is the worst type. It's horrible. But anyway derail on grain stores. A very good heads up and always one to think about before grabbing that shovel.
  16. Ok. Got a couple of questions if anyone can answer them for me. One is the sick feeling. I have been feeling sick almost constantly for a while now. Been to docs and they don't know what it could be. Just got me trying different things like food stuffs etc. never been physically sick from it (except for on the lifeboat) even had endoscope. So what is the sick feeling. Second is the aching bones. I do get aching bones and joints. Used to just be the wrists that I put down to using the chainsaws and brash dragging. But now its my neck, this really hurts. To the point I want to cry. My shoulder and kness hurt aswell. I have shovelled chip before, and it ha s been old chip that just spews out dust, also the heat from the chip just makes you sweat. Or am I just getting too old at 28? And need to man up? Think I will use a mask form now on. Used to clean grain stores every year and I know the dangers of farmers lung. So is health and safety on too of this or do they to know yet? And if chip is left on site for the customer to deal with as they want it for there garden etc, if they leave it too long and get ill will there be a comeback to the arb? Do they need warning of the dangers, will it turn into leaving a disclaimer that the customer has to sign saying if they get ill from to moving the chip or wearing a mask its down to them. (I only ask this as the way this country is going with sue anyone for anything day and age)
  17. What he said. But I do hope when you run out of stihl oil you go to the stihl dealer so they can tell you the correct way to use your stihl oil.
  18. Hahaha I havnt started on it yet. It's on the list. I won't be spending much time on it. Will let the customer the potential repair cost. As I always try to do if I don't know them and never dealt with them before. If they don't want it repaired that's fine. Just a bill for my time. I might even end up inheriting a saw. Not that I want it, but it will be my time fixing it so no really loss from a business point of view. The saws owner is the brother in law of a good customer, he told his brother in law to go buy a proper saw (stihl) so this may end up the case with this one. Again it s professionalism all the way. As I never know what work will come out of it. So will look into the probes and perform a few tests. Maybe spend an hour running through the obvious, like blocked bar hole or oil channel. He wants it serviced anyway so the cost of the repair will include the cost of a service. This alone will put the bill way above the cost the saw is worth anyway. A case of watch this space.
  19. Nice on Eddie. Bookmarked. It's a pcn4040.
  20. Hahaha noise of other campers. My kids WOULD drown out the noise of the music in the evening.:lol:
  21. I'm starting to not like you anymore spud. Yes it's a 4040.
  22. Picked up a ryobi chainsaw from a regular on the way home tonight. Not feeding oil. Havnt looked yet. Also wants it serviced.
  23. See told you. Easy peazy. Yes the special tool is suggested. I have never used one and probably never will. But did think about buying one before, then came to my senses. Now you can see why its easy to see if these pumps have gone. Nice and simple.
  24. I would clean the carb out fully and the fuel filter. Not knowing what past the machine has. Could be gunked up with crappy fuel or crud.
  25. I'm afraid its all to do with the right mix to go in them that matters. None of this healthy aspen stuff in these bad boys
