  1. Just watching the new series of axe men. For those that have seen it before poor old jimmy form s and s looks really bad health. Cancer has got him good. I do know last year he did die, but he looks bad in the series.
  2. Yeah 026 I s the easiest. Most other exhausts are a pinched seal around them. That needs to be prized open, this is a pita and guaranteed you will destroy most of the edge doing it. The stihls don't leave a lot for porting.
  3. My bench is going to look like Barrie's soon. Havnt checked the answer phone all weekend. Thought I may as well do it tonight. Three ride on mowers to service. Another rotovator coming in aswell. Oh and two Hayter mowers to look at. It's going to get busy that's for sure. Luckily I can do the ride ons on site. So no need to transport anything around exept for blades for balance and sharpen. Suits me ok.
  4. Yeah it's a new listing so has only just gone on. Could get creative like spud says. Depends if you think flaring around is worth it or not. IMO for the price may aswell buy new, it would cost me personally more to try and plate it up than to buy another section. But that's just me. Could plate it up and buy the other half and have the plated side as a back up piece, seeing as parts for these saws are mostly obsolete.
  5. Sorry dan I didn't even look at that bit. So its a new clutch side you are after then. Try this. STIHL 044 CHAINSAW CLUTCH SIDE CRANKCASE Give the whole thing a really good clean up. If you change one side you will need to take them apart, there ar e loads of videos on YouTube about how to do it. Can be a pita. You may also need new crank seals when changing the case as the old one may just self destruct when taking it apart. All depends on how much you want to spend on it.
  6. Personnaly I don't see much wrong with that. Just looks used. Give it a good clean up with some parrafin and an airline, then check it over again. If nothing cracked or missing could slap a bit of paint on it. Make it look pretty again.
  7. Stihl. The hs85, quiet, and good to handle. With the cutter head rather than trimming head they seem to take a good thick bit aswell. Plus with the movable rear handle they are always comfy. Bad points. Small fuel tank. But then after a short while its nice to have a break and refuel anyway. And the new stihl policy aswell. But worth it. I don't like the husky as had one in fro repair and thought the build was rubbish on it. Can't comment on the echo ones as never used them.
  8. No parts are able to buy upgraded as such. And exhaust mod will be good. Get those baffles out. Plus if your handy with a welder its a good idea. Pm spud.

    880 on ebay

Easy, make an offer that would mean the offer price is his asking price minus the vat, minus another 50 quid for your troubles.
  13. You can also pick you nose with it. Both nostrils at the same time........
  14. I've always been told to do it yearly. I think its mostly down to what you burn aswell. Mine gets done yearly regardless. Would rather that than the dreaded chimney fire. Piece of mind really.
  15. Ok. It's not uncommon to get either two left or right cutters together when making a chain. Just the way it works out. I wouldn't worry over a gap too much either. If the gap bothers you next time start a loop by removing to the next cutter first and then count out the drive links and split the chain. To be honest it makes no odds over having two cutters of the same side next to each other.
  16. Hahaha spud. Here is the non saw side of tools. A nice rotovator that I got in late last night. The handle was wobbling around, tightened up the nut and new split pin. The clutch cable arm next to the clutch was loose. Locktite and pinched it up. Works perfectly. Just got to strip the tynes and get ready for the new set.
  17. Something has made its way into the transfers. I would check the condition of the rest of the case. And the crank bearings aswell. Looks like it to me anyway.
  18. Sounds like a good day to me.:lol: Just have to hum grin and get on with it
  19. Could be worn drum. Could just be a big build up of crud. Take the cover off and have a good look. Clean it up and inspect the areas for wear. Then get some pics up for us to see.
  20. What he said. I have used a piece of flat steel clamped in a vice and lacked the middle of he blade, then placed it on that AFTER giving the edges a grind. Then continue grinding on the side that drops until it balances up. Now of course I use a balancer and its really easy. It all depends on how much of a perfectionist you are, I'm anal about sharpening.
  21. Ok. As htb said. If they will sharpen then do that, at least you will have a slightly worn spare set when the new ones arrive. Don't forget to balance them aswell.
  22. Got a heavy duty rotovator dropped of tonight. Big horrible blue thing, the tynes are gone so new ones coming, also it will try and run away with you on the end of a run, so pull the clutch up and it still try's to carry on driving. Got a few bits to tidy on it and a make over. But it looks like a well used machines. Anothe done from ovendans.
  23. Could just be bent blades. At worst you have destroyed the bearings. Best advice I can give is before you go taking it to pieces get it in the air somehow and just turn the blades by hand, see if they are bent. Then start by removing the belt and then checking the bearings. It does save a lot of hassle at first by doing what you can without removing the deck.
  24. I think its called the bay. Or just bay. Something like that. This is the trailer for it on YouTube. It's one messed up film. I had to do some Internet research after just to find out. Enjoy it. [ame=http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FgoWlESPzso]The Bay Official Trailer (2012) - YouTube[/ame]
