  1. Don't bother.. It turns to mush and you will find in a short time you will be stuck, done it to the yard and I had to use the digger to scrap it back off and lay hardcore down. Looks nice at first in summer but come winter it turns into a nightmare.
  2. Ok that's one pint on me who else?
  3. How many people going tomorrow are going to the show next month?
  4. Let's see a vid of it running perfectly then! I take it you never noticed the ring seals were missing before in the carb?
  5. I've got a pair of noise reduction ones. Not a radio but you can tune them to knock out noise over a certain level, use them for shooting, it takes the bang away but you can still hear people talking.
  6. Anything can fail. How do you know your rope or pulley or friction saver isn't going to fail? You don't, you can only minimise the chance by checking out your gear. But if this machine had failed before why was the same boom even with repair back in service?
  7. Relised this just after I pushed submit. Oh well at least I can breath out the closet. Not really.
  8. IMO if a machine fails like that it shouldn't be repaired, it should be scrapped and a new one put in its place.
  9. All I can say it is a good job the old girl ha Alzheimer's, I would want to forget seeing something like that in a hurry.
  10. Don't forget that the whole of arbtalk want to see some pics of this job....
  11. So it failed on a boom connection. Either the bolts went or the metal inside was weak or worn, if it was worn then it would be down to maintenance failure, someone is going to get the cop for it that's for sure. Never liked the damn things anyway. Thoughts with his family.
  12. The arb I work with has been doing a ride on his push bike with a few others, the details can be seen here. Timsbigbikechallenge's Blog | A fine WordPress.com site Has been doing it since last week Saturday I think they started, they traveled up on Friday. Would like to think I had the stamina to do it but I don't, they been averaging 100 miles a day.
  13. Ok ok keep your hair on! I did read it a while back but soooo many posts later there seemed to be no reply about it so I put my two cents in.
  14. Ive been thinking about this for a few days now, I can't think of anything that hasn't been brought up already. IMO it would be more than worth send spud a pm and arranging getting it to him so he can have a good look at.
  15. While this thread is open thank you f r jones my trousers have turned up today and very happy. Orderd Tuesday here today. So now the waiting is over for the trousers I now have to wait a few weeks for the show.....
  16. That all comes down to cost of winch vs cost of excess.
  17. Hahahaha it's just started so I'm going to finish the cut I'm on after lunch and being distracted by arbtalk. Suppose I had better go repair some fences. Got me waterproofs in the truck. I sharpen my blades at the weekend, keeps me in the shed away from the missis. Lol
  18. Yeah and now it's starting to rain on my job, guess that is the end of grass cutting, oh and it's your fault as it was fine before I read your post.
  19. Done. No chance of getting a 201t in my bag is there? If not haribo will do nicely.
  20. Classic, a crèche for tree men, will there be toys in it? Like ride on tractors, or toy chainsaws and axes, if there is I'm there and you would have a fight to get me in the car to go home!
  21. Love the way the cab tilts so you can look up at it aswell. Must be a homer Simpson moment droolling.
