    9/11

So it's another anniversary. So looking back at when it all I happened I was in a lecture about engine diagnosis, don't remember much about the lecture as everyone was running to watch a tv. So was it all worth it? Did going to war achieve anything?

  3. When I was at jonsies show a was in jeans and t shirt, with boots on. I felt underdressed as everyone seemed to be in ballistics and jackets.
  4. Yeah tell me about it. The hedge I was cutting was a 150 job, I soon quoted it at that and the stink it kicked up was tremendous, my reply was if you don't like the price find someone else.. They did and it looks awfull. I normally dont mind doing a few jobs hear and there as its a family thing. But not anymore.
  5. Smart casual with boots and ballistics in car ready. Stand out, if other come in stinking work gear it shows you as a bit more professional as you can also dress up smart. Just don't go covered in aftershave and smelling like a poooofs parlour.
  6. So after cutting a hedge for a family member and doing a few other jobs for other family members in the past today I've discoverd they have all been (naughty word I can't use) me off behind my back..... It's a sad affair and I don't like it as I like doing work for family for a few beers or a BBQ now and again but I'm stopping it all now. Now I will price any work and treat it as a normal client and working. Anyone else had this or does this. I thought family where better than this but obviously not. Now I will stick to my old bosses words and never work for family.
  7. Would it work on stumps. Looks like they have jaws that separate, the jaws would just push into the wood without splitting it.

  9. Fr jones? Spend over 50 free delivery, I think. Was last time I ordered. Not difficult with all the shiny things he has....
  10. Just make sure you either have someone with you or a way of contacting someone who knows where you are. If you stuff up bad you need help.
  11. Yep that's the one. Page two boogiwithstu idea. I've been using. Only thing I've found is a re direct is a pain to get the system apart and throw it elsewhere and carry on using the system. Steves idea gives room for this, I'm off to have a play and see what I can come up with.
  12. Will have to try these. It does look easier to set up a re direct than the way I've got it. I found that with the ways you've shown get a good hold on the rope to pull up isn't easy as the hc is too close to my body to get any good lift.
  13. I have a small question on the hitch climber. Bear with me on this as it may sound dumb but I'm wanting to know. When I first saw the set up it was at jonsies show. It showed the bottom carab joined to the eye end of the rope. And the top carab joined accross to the rope. However on a few vids I've seen the bottom carab is joind to nothing, and the top carab is joined to the eye end of rope. If this makes sence to anyone I'm interested to know if this is right. I've been using it so the pulley is not load supporting but only there to move the prussik up the line. I've got the eye end through my harness and onto the bottom carab so I can adjust the hight of the hc so when climbing I can move it away from me and when decending I can move it clos to me.
  14. Are you saying you have no trust in your gear??? I've rec climbing a lot and love it, I have taken a bow saw and loppers up with me to get rid of a few branches in the woods to try limb walking but not a saw as I've not got a ticket for it.
  15. Some of the people I've seen felling trees won't need a sentence for deth, they will die through natural selection.....
  16. Is this one of those laws they forgt about?? Has it been revoked. I know here are a few about. Like not being allowed to Hurd geese through London on a Friday.
  17. Carefull now. D ont want the anarchists cookbook coming out in the open now.
  18. Until you forget thu are there and go staggering in the shed at 5 in the morn after a heavy night out...
  19. Prevention is better than cure. Sugar in fuel does nothing. Sounds like you are worrying a lot about kit getting stolen, you could put the biggest baddest locks chains and ground anchors you can find on stuff, if they want it they will take it. Just make it look like it will be more trouble than it's worth, if you have an old tractor or car take the exhaust off and park it in front of the gear. They start that they will soon run.
  20. Nothing you can do. You could have the name branded so no one could copy it but what's the point. Just going to have to ignore it and carry on.
  21. I use a hitch climber system for my rec climbing. Carry a couple of loops on my harness for changeovers and a few spare carabs and thats about it. Oh and a sharp knife.
