  1. Whatever you do DON'T start tapping out the holes! Stihl offer oversized bar studs, as this is a common issue. All you need to do is remove the existing spinning studs from the body and simply screw in these oversize studs. Ensuring the new stud is lined up square with the existing hole, and use some locking fluid. Use two nuts locked together on the new stud to allow you to wind it gently in. If you cannot remove the nut on the end of the original stud that's spinning, then with a hacksaw or dremel cut a slot in the end of the stud and hold in place with a screwdriver whilst you use your spanner to remove the nut. Part number of stihl oversize studs for the ms250 is: 1123 664 2405 I have done this repair loads of times and last longer than original
  2. If they are reluctant to inform a potential new user as to it's benefits, and are effectively asking their consumer to guess what the benefits may well be (some of which are long term and not easily noticeable- such as less carbon build up internallly) after a 'test drive' of the product, then I think it's unlikely they would inform them of this downside you suggest....wouldn't you?
  3. Sorry, I must have not made it as clear as I could have done, maybe. Aspen, thenselves state there is a perceived 'cost barrrier' as they have stated that clearly in their OP. Therefore I was asking on behalf of, say, someone not familiar with the product (I am-but they aren't preaching to the converted are they), in what way does this process achieve 'getting over the cost barrier' By not explaining how it can do that, then it's a pointless statement. If I said to you, by buying top of the range Pirelli tyres for your car, in the long term it would actually save you money compared to a budget brand, then most people in their right mind would say 'how will they do that?' You would then go on and say....they are more durable, thus giving a longer life, less wear and rolling resistance to improve mpg...that sort of thing. I though I had made that point clear...but obviously not as clear as I should have. When the OP replied to my post, all they did was reiterate what they had already stated in their OP, and then asked if it had answered my question- which it obviously hadn't as all it was, was a repeat, instead of backing up thier statement with some facts to help a new user to understand
  4. Yes I did. I sell Stihl motomix alongside Aspen, which is actually slightly cheaper....despite the fact Stihl haven't got their own refinery, so are probably just re-bottling someone elses fuel....maybe Aspen? Strange it should be cheaper, when you consider there is another profit level in the chain of supply to Stihl
  5. Stubby.....isn't it a pity that you have had to explain the advantages of using Aspen and the OP hasn't. The point I was making in my original observation post regarding this statement from them: 'We want to help companies get over the cost barrier and to see how Aspen fuel can benefit their business' It is THEY that should be reinforcing that claim with the kind of facts you have stated...which is what I was asking them to do...but didn't. I'm always wary of a professional organisation that can't spell 'guarantee' as well.....but that's another matter. 😁

    Partner 370

This model doesn't have an adjustable oiler. The flow on these is quite extreme and is a feature of the model. A more traditional mineral based chain oil would be my recommendation....assuming you are using a synthetic oil such as Stihl synthplus at the moment.
  7. Like the French interior minister has said to the UK...... "Stop making your country so attractive to migrants"
  8. The Labour 'open doors' policy has a lot to answer for. Firmly beleive the Blair/Brown ideal, was to allow the population to be swelled by immigrants who would go on and become nationals, and would become natural Labour voters.
  9. There are several definitions, and yours is a very selective one of them. Every had you home 'invaded' by a load of ants in the Summer? Or your privacy invaded by a nosey neighbour? See.....it can be used in many ways. The MSM and others used a particular definition this week to suit their agenda
  10. Braverman is a breath of fresh air...a politician telling us how it is. Politicians rarely do this now for fear of losing votes, so issues that the government and MSM consider 'controversial' are avoided, covered up or shouted down using excuses it may be racist, inflammatory or inciteful. Just another example of the cover up and the never ending campaign to stifle the truth by the minority who shout the loudest. 'British Home Secretary Suella Braverman warned this week that the migrant crisis in the United Kingdom has reached the level of an "invasion," which drew both criticism and support from local politicians, with some calling for her resignation. "The British people deserve to know which party is serious about stopping the invasion on our southern coast and which party is not," Braverman, a conservative, said this week. "Let’s stop pretending they are all refugees in distress, the whole country knows that is not true." Braverman added that her country’s "hopelessly lax asylum system" is "broken." Braverman’s comments drew harsh criticism from liberal politicians, including Kim Johnson, a lawmaker for the main opposition Labour Party, who said Braverman's language would inflame tensions amid the growing immigration crisis along the English Channel'
  11. By conicidence, I have received this email this morning. Hopefully it will clarify things: Dear Dealer Principal, We wanted to make you aware that there are some press articles circulating about Honda’s production facility in North Carolina in the US, and its plans to discontinue production of petrol lawn mowers from September 2023. This is correct and the decision was driven by stricter environmental regulations and changing customer preferences in the US market. You may remember at dealer conference it was presented that all pedestrian mower production for Europe has now transferred to our facility in Orleans, France. This gives Honda in Europe independence and European markets won’t therefore be impacted by the change in the US market. Honda remains committed to the production of the entire range of petrol mowers for Europe. If you receive any questions from customers, please use this position on a reactive basis. Thank you for your continuing support for our Honda Power Products business. Kind regards Stephen Morris Head of Power Products
  12. There is evidence to suggest they may well be. Certainly being reported in the states. This was in my trade journal last Friday: https://www.servicedealer.co.uk/latest-news/reports-that-player-is-to-exit-mower-market
  13. The wording doesnt have to be exact. They havent given any reasons so far...irellevant of wording. Unless youve read something i clearly havent?
  14. Appreciate the feedback OP
  15. Agree.......making a 'throwaway' statement like in the original post is annoying and insulting, which is why I was following it up.
  16. No it doesn't........giving a free trial, for which afterwards is going to cost you £23 per 5 litres, does not explain to anyone how that 'overcomes the cost' I am not saying it's not good stuff because I sell it....and the Stihl motomix, but if I said to a customer- here's a can try it and it will help you understand the cost savings....he quite rightly is going to want an explanation as to how that statement rings true. In the same way you have pretty much done the same to me.
  17. Remember the synthplus stihl chainsaw is rheopecitc......which mean it is VERY fluid when not agitated, but becomes thicker when being thrown around on a running bar and chain so it sticks better. The advantage of this over traditional always 'stringy' chain oil ,is that it flows better through oil pumps, oiler holes etc, so is more likely to find its way to the bar without clogging. The disadvantage of this type of oil, is that you will get more pooling of the oil at rest or when on idle.
  18. Agree with all above. Is the plug wet when you've tried pulling it over a few times, because it should be. IF it is or isn't while you have the plug out spray a bit of carb cleaner/wd40 straight in the plug hole and pop the plug quickly back in and try and start. If it at least tries to start after doing that (if it hasn't done that before), I would suggest in the first instance it is a fuel supply issue.
  19. Interesting, but how does it 'get over the cost barrier' ?
  20. This sort of thing?

    Mini Saws

Maybe, but you have to understand i deal prediminantly domestic users with the odd man in a van gardener thrown in....none are experts per se, so are happy to watch someone with notably more experience than them to demonstrate it....like i say, it almost always ends in a purchase irrelevant .

    Mini Saws

From what I gather from my pro gardener users it's time and convenience compared to getting out a dedicated pole saw. They keep it charged up in the cab of the van and just grab it as and when for the odd job to save you setting up a larger machine. More likely to use it if it's there rather than struggle with a bow saw etc.

    Mini Saws

I can only vouch for the Stihl GTA26 as that is the one we sell since it was introduced a couple of years ago. Never had one back with an issue and everyone who has made a purchase that we have seen since during the course of our business have said how pleased they are with it and how it out performed their expectations. If anyone is unsure of buying, then I direct them to this video of this guy who tests all the Stihl cordless stuff before going to full market launch- always ends in a sale for us.

    XP550

Let us know what the prognosis is........we do like to be proved correct.......or wrong 😅
  25. Very worrying....how often has this kind of thing been done, and what else are they doing to influence opinion and to shore up an agenda?? This is manipulation of the news......a slippery slope to 1984
