  1. Had my climbing equipment swiped on a job recently (at lunch time, buggers!), so I would like to ask if anyone has a spare they could sell me please. Ideally ready for work with strop. I would rather stick with what I know which I why i'm being specific - I could use one with my eyes closed! Lincs/cambs area please- dont want to be travelling too far. Cheers
  2. The stuff of dreams this one, wish I lived closer. One day I hope to work on a large estate as there are not many my way on. Hope you find the right candidate.
  3. thread bandit! haha
  4. well said. keep smiling buddy.
  5. what an interesting place to come across, the stuff of dreams.
  6. do you ever have a bad day Silky?! seems your always smiling and have something positive to say. Good for you mind, there are too many doomsayers around! Fair play mate.
  7. guy claims he's late up on a sunday? surely a sign of a lazy man, and he's probably going to winge all the job through and try to hanker you down on price in the process. he's calling you cos he's probably p'd off other guys in the trade that choose to no longer work for him!! best off without him i say.
  8. googled his number and he has a gardening website etc, looks legit. but why, if your in the trade would you buy kit only to use a few times, surely it makes business sense to use the kit for a couple of years then sell on? perhaps dodgy folk like to hide behind a legit business. confusing this one is....
  9. I spent many times coming in from the pubs on a saturday night watching his late night slot. I have to say I really enjoyed watching his show which of course put into perspective that we are but on a lonley rock hurtling through space at thousands of miles an hour. Rest in peace good man.
  10. Word has it in my town that Foreign nationals are sweeping up a load of tree/ grounds maintenance work. I personally have not seen any, but the effects are really being felt- I've got a cracking 'winter special' tree work advert in the local paper that is usually on fire at this time of year, two to three enquiries per week. But so far i've had slim pickings off it- rather worrying. I want to state of course that I do not have a problem with the foreign nationals of course- I say fair play to them, they have to work just like everybody else. Whats got me thinking is that folk from other counties have being living here for the best part of a decade now and naturally they are not going to want to be confined to working the land and factories for much longer- they are going to want improve their lifestyles. Problem is in my view is that they are happy to work for less than british workers and work harder in the process, surely potentially a recipie for disaster for the industry that we have been used to for decades. So with my experience, is this starting to happen now, and should we be worried....?
  11. A fake one, the boss won't let me have a real one.
  12. A dog house. Seems im always metaphorically asigned to one by the wife for buying myself too many presents already this year.
  13. yea, it'll be alrite! I should expect the chainsaw's ego is bruised more!
  14. what it is to be young and be able to spend £200 just like that most of my money goes on running a business these days and the rest goes on household bills. I used to be well into my surfing and mountain biking, but I dare not not spend money any more on personal ventures as there is always another bill waiting in the wings, bugger it!
  15. May I ask if you require groundsmen? Cheers, Luke
  16. have you tried..... http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/employment/49834-work-available-gloucestershire.html
  17. well said. good luck with your new venture, and when your doing well make sure you dont relax! a mistake i have made so many times thinking 'oh I have loads of work'! gotta keep chasing up those fresh new enquiries to keep a constant revenue stream!
  18. I do hedges most of the year, I find its a great way of doing a job and doing it well rather than to cover as many types of work simply to keep booked up. its also really handy when quoting as I have a price per meter that's bullet proof and it's a good good way of finding the people who want to pay for a good job done, and that of the ones that don't want to pay and are therefore a waste of time.
  19. likewise, as there is still God fearing folk around that don't like a saw struck up on a Sunday so personally I think it's a nice way to earn some money indoors.
  20. looking to groundie next year in all of january and febuary. any bookings I get for hedges I'll put them forward to the spring, so I shall have a free diary for a couple of months. im a real grafter and can work for a good price. lincs area please, and ideally for one company alone. cheers
  21. how has folk got on? I lost 5 kilos in a flash, but since then ive held weight at 95 kilos and it seems no amount of extra excercise or watching what I eat has helped get any lower. Seems ive reached my plateau weight....
  22. the groupies. ok so maybe thats a lie!
  23. email sent
  24. haha fantastic!
