  2. beer token jobs is what they are. Gotta love 'em! had one lady try to give me £30 for taking down a simular sized conny, I said nah your alright, a tenner will do. It was cut off and on the back of the wagon in less that 60 seconds! bless some of the old dears eh, I aways find it's the ones with less that are willing to give more.
  3. On a more mature note.... Are there ever any calls for groundsmen with the company you worked for Josh?
  4. lol. Yeah not much can beat a nipple count whilst at work. Let alone a swedish blonde!!
  5. plus I'm sure the sinister side of you wanted to check if he still had all of his fingers!
  6. walking to the shops this morning and I saw a chap doing a spot of DIY with a tree stump. Didn't half make me chuckle- he was attacking a 15" tree stump with a small pruning saw and a small hand axe, me thinks he would have took him all day if at all. It was right by the roadside too, has he no shame?! It looked that painfull to witness I almost wanted to grab my MS361 and knock it off for free, but then I thought- nah, let him get on with it!! so it got me thinking, whats the latest domestic blunders you have seen recently? and did it make you want to try and eat your own hand?!
  7. it's a bit of a trek for collection, so i'll have to decline i'm afraid. Thank you all the same Andy

  14. Hi Im putting out the feelers for groundie sub-contracting works. The set up I have is: Myself and another groundie Own saws, PPE, Fuels, ladders etc. 4x4 access with towing capability Chipper £256 per day (£16 per man per hour x 8 hours) Looking to work up to 65 miles north and and south of grantham on the A1 corridor. We are both real grafters so you will get your moneys worth.
  15. how did you get on James?
  16. its the slight change of climate that apparrantly is going to effect all our native trees.
  17. I wouldn't wanna be one of those two men! that would be a long and back breaking one days labour. IMHO id put a price in at a straight grand, it wouldn't be worth any less to me. It's the sort of figure most customers would be prepared to pay for that kind of task. If however you had a gap in your diary and needed the revenue.... let them bid you £850
  18. Stihl MS361 all the way for me, great power to weight ratio, powers a 18" bar a dream. prices around £800 new or £400 second hand.
  19. p.s give me a tinkle on 07956 422120
  20. only just seen your ad. if for any reason today wasnt on/ or delayed, I can gladly give you a hand tommorow (friday). cheers, luke.
  21. just thought id mention to folk on here about the dangers of working with ivy, which i'm sure most of you will know about! I did a 'quick' job a couple of days before christmas just to get some readies in for a few xmas presents. it was a ivy removal job off a tree, and with it being a wet day i thought to myself that i'd be fine without a mask- big mistake!! first week hit hard, temp all up and down, with a chest infection to boot. thought it'd clear- first week, no, second week, no third forth etc. time to get down the doc i thought. so got on the anti b's for a couple of weeks- still no good a couple of months in pneumonia kicked in so hospital for me then for the next fortnight!! Great, cant' afford this!! anyway got my fitness back about a couple of weeks ago. so i'm ready to crack on. had to let my tipper go due to the strain of no income, so lesson learned hard there. so for the sake of wearing an unconfortable mask for a couple of hours, all this could have been avoided!! if any guys need a groundie and his mate, 4x4 access, with own tools give me a shout (30 miles radius of grantham, lincs), would be good to get back up to full speed. cheers.
  22. may I ask for contact number please? I operate in the grantham area, cheers.
  23. surely the traveler's can do it themselves?? don't they go round telling everyone that they are first class tree surgeons??!!
  24. come to think of it do travellers EVER go to prision?! i think it's just an inconvenience for them isn't it- so they dont bother turning up for hearings lol. I bet the list of arrest warrants outstanding in the travelling community is HUGE!!!
  25. great result in getting them caught, nice one. my missus watches all the what I would call bonk telly- one of them being my big fat gypsy wedding. there was this one bit where there was an ambasaddor talking on behalf of the travelling community saying that they are decent and honest workers who have respected trades such as plumbers, gardeners, tree surgeons etc.... the trade he didn't mention i noticed was of course..... thievery.... it's their oldest trade isn't it!!
