  1. Thanks for explaining. 750mm sounds good
  2. I can see that being expensive
  3. Wonder why they're switching to Uniforest? The only difference seems to be the colour
  4. The wheels are handy to be able to move it in to a corner of the shed out the way where the tractor can't get to. But that's on concrete, won't be suited to moving round on rough ground. It's pretty heavy too.
  5. Had one of those saws before upgrading to the Balfor one. Don't miss it.
  6. I keep wondering about that log grip handle. Have had my hands smacked a few times by twistier smaller bits of wood jumping about
  7. I've had my 700 for nearly 2 years. I wish I had the conveyor to send the logs straight in to my trailer but its a lot more money for the conveyor. Maybe upgrade one day. It's a lot easier than using a chainsaw. I find its better to use on our bigger tractor. If I use it on the old Ford 4000 it doesn't have the power to keep the blade spinning when you're cutting 12" diameter logs whereas on the other tractor it's fine on bigger stuff. Only criticism I'd have of it is that I have to put it on a pallet when I'm using it to get a decent working height. It must have been designed for short people. The Oxdale ones look like you couldn't put as big a diameter wood through them due to the design of the rocking cradle.
  8. From a processing point of view it's great, easy to split and straight. The customers I've sold it to love it.
  9. Anyone on here going to own up to being like this? Man deeply in love with his logs
  10. I think Lakes Biomass do something similar for drying with their hooklift bodies?
  11. 4kg x 600 = 2400kg?
  12. Love this. Cool in black too
  13. How do you do it for 8 lights all on the same switch
  14. Anyone able to show me a wiring diagram and advice for how to install a set of the 8x CREE LED flood lamps off eBay?
  15. How'd you wire them up? The lights on our tractor are crap and who ever did the wiring did a terrible job so I'd like to sort it out. I used to dabble in car sound systems a lot of years ago so if someone pointed me in the right direction of what to wire up to where I'd be confident of being able to do it
  16. How far from Windermere would you travel?
  17. You ever asked Haytons about stocking it Hodge?
  18. The right socks make a massive difference to comfort and warmth in wellies. I wear Bridgedale Trekker socks, never get cold feet and they have inbuilt padding too. Got some black Dunlop wellies with steel toe cap and steel sole. Seem good when needs must.
  19. Next episode tonight 9pm on History channel
  20. Can you do walling, fencing, hedging etc.? Maybe a neighboring farm wants a bit of work doing. Worth asking if they've any hours for you?
  21. Did anyone see the new episode of Mountain Men on Wednesday night? One of the guys was in the middle of nowhere in Alaska and was felling trees and using some kind of chainsaw mill to make a log cabin for him to live in. All by himself no machinery other than a saw. Pretty cool. Did anyone recognise what kind of mill it was or was it a home made job? Couldn't find any photos or videos of it to show you. Part of me would love to live like these guys do, I bet the reality is a very hard life though!
  22. Work out the volume of the trailer in cubic metres. Times that by your rate for a cubic metre of logs. There's your price. That doesn't take in to account any discount you may or may not want to give for them buying in bulk or delivery costs.
  23. When I've been looking recently I'm sure Esse stoves are some of the most efficient. Look good too.
  24. What is it?
