    badger cull

Hi IMO are we sure that its just badgers that spread TB? & why isnt there a vaccine for cattle? To me it seems a short term solution to gas badgers as they eventually re-populate the area. N
  3. I would say America is trying to play acting God in terms of internet censorship on copyright/IP.
  4. Good news on El Regizeera, two of the bills sponsors drop support Two PROTECT IP sponsors drop support for their own bill ? The Register
  5. Hi I hope it gets thrown out, it has serious implications that threaten the Internet. Hosting your domain in a non US location wont bypass it, because unfortunately, America has all the guns and money & countries such as the UK being 'Americas bitch' have to toe the line. Its a classic case of governing with a big stick & getting the wrong end of it, as governments only listen to companies such as Microsoft, Sony etc and the small guy has to fall in line & in some cases a perfectly legitimate web site could fall foul of SOPA. I think SOPA is just going to line the pockets of the lawyers, as if they dont have enough already. No doubt, the Internet will also come up with the means to bypass it!
  6. Hi Interesting thread & well done, but shame you have to deal with so much hazardous waste keep up the good work N
  7. Hi Looks really good, like the simple design & should last for a good few years. Well done! N
  8. Hi I have known of sellers who sell a quantity of small items then switch to expensive ones, laptops, etc. They show 100% positive feedback at that point. The expensive items usually end within a few days, but arnt available & dont get shipped - the seller trousers the proceeds and vanishes. N
  9. Hi I have a lot of it & its difficult to kill, the leaves are waxy which helps repel any sprays, however, I have heard that adding a few drops of washing up liquid makes glyphosate more effective. Also sprinkling rock salt is supposed to kill ivy but takes time and will affect the soil, so probably not good for the hedge. I use a Dutch hoe to rake out the small spreading roots, then for the fat stuff I chop it, then drill a little hole & pour in a small quantity of sodium chlorate weed killer. Not sure if you can still get it but it seems to do the trick, not sure what secondary effect you may have as the stuff leeches out. However, I have used this tactic to successfully kill Russian vine roots in a small garden. TBH I dont think theres any one way that does it for good & a combined assault using the best methods avoiding hedge damage is best! Bon chance N
  10. Wow, amazing find if it really is neolithic, I cant see 'Fiskars' on it anywhere... well done Wonder what else may be waiting to be discovered there?
  11. Appalling & sickening Who ever did this needs a regular beating whilst in prison for a very very long time
  12. Hi Ten out of ten for effort though, Im sure when certain things are designed, they think - now how can we make this a real bugger to fix!
  13. Hi Had a weekend in London for my sons stag do in October, Friday night mainly excessive drinking & a curry Saturday morning we played a team game involving photographing landmarks & various pre-defined situations such as a smiling taxi driver & so on, really good fun Saturday eve was spent at Jongleurs Comedy Club - three really good acts, then clubbing till daft o'clcock Dont forget to make notes so you can very publicly humiliate all in your speech! Be aware a lot of places dont like stag do's so ours was a school re union, I was one of the 'teachers'... N
  14. You can always use Parallels or VMWare fusion to run Windows, I use VMWare fusion for testing Windows software and servers, its brilliant, when Windows fails, I can re-load the VM in under a minute N
  15. See Mac Accounting Software - Mac Business Software by QuickBooks Some on-line components of Sage work with Mac, but quite frankly Sage really should write a Mac version of their software. N
  16. Hi Firewood cutting in the morning Cut the grass on the front orchard with the 42" ride on, yes it really is that mild here - 15 degrees & repaired the grillage along one boundary. N
  17. Ebay dosnt give a toss about its sellers, they & Paypal are robbing barstewards, IMO.
  18. Hi I managed the IT for a few SME & larger companies using Sage, their support is good, but I would say the software is pitched at small enterprises or larger as opposed to very small companies where one/two people do everything. I havnt maintained Quickbooks but have heard that it is very good. Be aware that purchase price alone should not be the deciding factor, its ease of use, the 'fit' to your business situation & support that are important. N
  19. Hi I have seen several E-bay items pitched at ridiculous prices such as this. I think as previously posted, that in some cases its a genuine mistake with an extra 1, although I suspect some are trying it on to see what they can get. If ever I see anything in an E-bay shop, I find the suppliers website and see if its cheaper as E-bay are getting too greedy IMO. N
  20. Agreed & once finished he swings around with the saw bar held on its cutting axis. Ugly at best.
  21. Oh dear, something worse than those fairly awful 'Expert village' youtubes All sorts of errors here, even to my relatively inexperienced eyes What a dick N
  22. Hi, Sorry to hear of this, there are several types of inexpensive web cams (axis Y-cam etc) that will motion detect & record to a server or PC. Alternatively a claymore mine with a trip wire should do the trick! barstewards N
  23. Hi Steve, Firstly, thank you for helping to run such a valuable resource. A few suggestions: A professional membership level that would provide a profile of the Arborists business, the area they cover, contact number, back link to web site etc with an on-line gallery for professionals to post pics of their jobs, you could offer this as a paid level for pro members. Perhaps a bit more information for the users profile, this would allow other members to more accurately asses the posters level of experience, before making judgement in their response posts. Happy New Year to all.
  24. Hi, Please let us know price/delivery as I would like to order one, I can supply UK address for delivery TVM N
  25. IMO There are 2 factors that make a sale: It makes sense & the price is right. Aspen makes sense, but the price is bizarre (to me) so Im not going to try it until the pricing is reduced.
