    Red wine

I dont see any problems with a glass or two of wine, unless the glass holds about a litre, I try and have three days in the week without & generally have few glasses of red & a petit apero du anisette a la weekend, I once nailed a 5 litre box with a friend & diddnt feel to clever afterwards!

  3. fairly cold & sunny, log burner going well, thank you - Mendiplogs ma maison & 3 vehicles on the main drag - must be rush hour!
  4. Hi Put your money into property, pension funds have a nasty habit of being raided or diminished in management charges so pay off your mortgage first N
  5. And while you're at it have a pee up the wall of their house and park your camper van at the end of their drive expecting to stay there a few days... when said thing happened at one of our clients farms, I very politely asked them if they knew they were parked on private land and was promptly told to f*** off. 'OK, I will' I very calmly replied, 'but Ill be back with the bulldozer...' Oddly enough they left. N
  6. Hi all, The last couple of days its been extremely cold minus 10 at night with very bright clear days, went to the beach today very cold wind made it feel like the Arctic. N
  7. Hi all, i have taken a chainsaw over on the ferries a couple of times in the back of the car. They are classed as dangerous items, so you are supposed to tell the ferry company you are carrying them in advance, which I did once and no one seemed too interested. I just removed the bar & drained all the fuel so they seemed OK with that. Incidentally Brittany Ferries charge a bit more if your trailer is over 3m, try LD lines or the tunnel is reasonable this time of year. N
  8. ...Agreed, Then they increase the DD saying "oh this is as low as we can get it" I had the same cak from EON so I swapped, the pricing models seem to be biased to using more not less & the direct debit is always about 150% of annual consumption divided by 12. scum I despise more than BT & Microsoft.
  9. Agree entirely, check out the lease agreement & boot him out ASAP
  10. Hi Always interesting to see what the weathers doing, were forecast for some snow on Monday! Meteociel - Prévisions météo N
  11. Hi Yes, they are good, also help stop thorny stuff & barbed wire injuries N
  12. Agreed, BT are loathed & despised by techies, they even screw up the internet by not hosting a domain with an A record at btcentralplus.com - even if clients dont use a BT mailbox they inject this domain into mail headers so their sent mail manifests as spam, - spit. N
  13. Hi all, A slight problem with changing ISPs such as Virgin is the exchange at Sway does not provide those services, neither does it have any LLU providers, such as talk talk. I have found the most consistent speed tester is at Speedtest.net . Thankfully there is no BT over here & despite being fairly rural still get a good service http://www.speedtest.net/result/1733657211.png N
  14. I think thats the real reason we're 'over here' N
  15. Hi Glad to hear it wasnt quite as bad as it sounded so if you raise £2500 then youre quits get well soon & dont do it again! N
  16. Hi, Just goes to show not all white van drivers are barstewards & Ginsters pies/pasties are not bad either N
  17. Hi Turner award, methinks N
  18. Hi, There are a lot of factors that govern the speed & quality of broadband you receive, however out of all the many providers that I have dealt with BT seem the least interested in resolving them for the domestic customer. So, are you sure the problem is with BTs service? To start, could you please post your router make, distance from exchange & what you have done to determine that its BTs problem, also if you have any neighbours with BTBB do you know what speed they are getting? N
  19. Cos the houses are about half price of UK with about 5 times more land? they have a health service that actually works roads are generally very good wine is cheaper than petrol, but then most things are! to name a few & yes, French customer service can be dismal! Thanks, N
  20. Many thanks, thought so - I saw an Ms311 for 730 euros in Mr Bricolage Thanks for posting, enjoy your 261 N
  21. In 2010 the benefit payout was 160B against 150B tax revenue but I suppose thats small change to socialists N
  22. Hi How about baked spuds wrapped in tinfoil? N
  23. Hi sounds like a really nice saw, what bar length do you have? Did you buy it in the UK or France if so which dealer as they all seem daft prices for Stihl here.

    3 Phase help

Hi Would it be possible to contact the manufacturers for information regarding how best to start it? Whilst in the RN most of our motors were star connected and just had a direct on-line 3 phase starter with over current trips, be aware that a motor can take up to eight times running current for a short time when starting! N
