  1. I've always consider Echo pretty decent saws, the warranty alone is very good and a friend with three, swears by them.
  2. Buy two pairs and that will see you six years then.
  3. Send it to Spud and get it ported as well! I'd check the common dog stuff like: Air filter, plug colour & the baffle and filter screen isnt gummed up in the exhaust. Then check the oiler is working as a reduction of oil to the bar will slow her up a lot. My 250 ran best once I'd opened up the holes in the exhaust baffle and put a short bar on it. Edit: oh er, sounds like its been in bits already...
  4. Oh thank goodness for that. Much as I try to destroy my 250 on a regular basis, it seems far too robust! May the good ole 420SC be available for many years to come. Triples and quads? Oh er... On a different subject I spotted a 395xp here today in Gamm Vert for (OMG) 1559 euros - guaranteed to get zero sales. It'll be some time before the exchange rate makes that bugger affordable! although they can be got for 1199 here from less insanely priced dealers who want people to walk out the door with it, as opposed to gathering dust on the shelf.
  5. Probably 2 or 3 more than you actually need
  6. Desired number of saws = current number + 1
  7. If you can get the 435 power head only as RobD has got some nice offers on 13" Sugi Pro lite bar and chain sets Chainsawbars - Selectors for chainsaw guide bars, chains and sprockets WWW.CHAINSAWBARS.CO.UK Chainsawbars - Largest selection of chainsaw guide bars and chainsaw chain for Stihl, Husqvarna, Echo and Dolmar...
  8. The Dolmar 420 seems available here in France, but then so are Husqvarna 346, 390, 395 & 3120's I seem to recall a 420 was around 350 euros so that would be a good solution, Shavey used to import them. N
  9. Hello Ty The Husqvarna 543 may be a choice, very light and easy to start. Other than that the Makita 2 x 18v battery saws as suggested may be a good idea if not too heavy. I don't have their saw but I do have a few LXT tools including a 36V strimmer and really are very good - maybe consider one with a brushless motor. The small Echos and Dolmars supposed to be very good too. I have an MS250 I think it has 'ergo start' but I much prefer a proper normal pull start although I may have knackered the spring, Ive also changed the 'easy' chain tensioner for two studs as it used to do anything but apply the correct tension to the chain. Both are worthless gimmicks IMO. Happy New Year to all Noel
  10. Taken a few days ago, on return from Les Viviers de L’Ocean at Esnandes, degraded a fair bit as its a 24Mp file reduced to jpgs D750 back with Tamron 24-70 f2.8, minmal pp.
  11. Looks good but why 'tool less' tensioning on a pro saw? Unless its been improved vastly.
  12. Here migrants need to support themselves, until contributed for 5 years, need a translator ? Go and hire one. As for land its all got too expensive, here its around 25 euros a sq metre so a decent building plot is about 25 - 30 K
  13. Title: Changing the way your fundamental asset is abused, owned and governed. A vote winner amongst the work shy layabouts who expect everything to be provided for free.
  14. Thats a long one! Last year was amazing for fruit, we had plenty of spuds, harricot beans, peas, leeks a bit wormy, butternut squash - dozens, peppers, aubergene but not so well with carrots.
  15. At a guess, IOS11 no longer supports 32bit apps?
  16. Or you could buy 18,000 3 litre boxes of Roche Mazet Merlot as its on offer in HyperU and...
  17. Perhaps Spud is also a 'hedge fund' manager, there might be some connection there... sigh.
  18. Yes if you grew your own fruit and veg & did the self sufficiency thing to keep out goings down.
  19. Pay some of the mortgage off, if I had one, take a nice holiday & put some away for a rainy day Oh and buy a 395xp & a dolly 420 maybe a chipper too.
  20. Oh that looks nice, sure some one will give £300 i would if I could... Have to be careful what I say these days I think Mrs NFG has an account and maybe stalking me.
  21. Whilst I prefer/like/perv Husqvarna 3 series, the 241, 260, 461, 661 seem fine saws - and a few others, they sometimes go AWOL when a new model is released and takes a bit to sort it. Should all be available on prescription really, much better for you than nasty pharmaceuticals I think Stihls sell well on E-bay because the name is very well known, so they must be good...
  22. Sounds like hes had some of our Eau de Vie!
  23. Thats fine, but most here are in Europe so shipping and import duty adds to the cost, unless the UK becomes the 51st or is it 52nd state after 2019! Lot of info on that site. Yes, Rob D has full skip .404 and 3/8th in .063 & .058 guage
