  1. Its not very often I disagree with you Steve, but I really do not see the need for loctite on a helicoil. They are designed to be installed dry, and will provide a new thread far stronger than the original.
  2. A helicoil will be fine. Very easy to do.
  3. I enjoyed watching that, Matt.
  4. Sorry, I read that you could bump start it, but not that a good jump got it going. Lets hope its the battery then.
  5. Sorry to butt in, but this one bothers me. Wouldn't the spark be generated by the flywheel and ignition module, rather than the battery? Or am I missing something? I have no knowledge of these engines, I admit. A low batttery voltage would result in a low crank speed, thus a weak spark will be generated, and could also cause the starter motor windings to break down. But the battery voltage and reserve capacity can easily be tested, and 'slaving' it should prove the problem as long as the starter motor is still OK. A weak module would be my guess though.
  6. Definately a new flywheel, but find the cause before fiting.
  7. GardenKit was taken...
  8. It could cause overheating, but I would be more worried about the imbalance. It WILL cause vibration, which COULD result in things falling off. I do know of people who use them with fins missing, but I personally would not risk it, I want to keep my bits from falling off. Find out why they shed, fix the problem and replace the flywheel. edit.. sorry Rich, just a bit later than you.
  9. You never know.......
  10. The same thoughts went through my head too, but I left them standing. The only way to that beach is by boat and hardly anyone ever goes there as you have to know the offshore reefs and rocks pretty well to get a boat in. I have been going there by sea for 50 yrs and seldom see a footprint on the sand. Any children would be older and the parents could knock them down (I hope) and they were all in the inter tidal zone so the tides should sort them out.
  11. Yours would all be upside down Rich:lol:
  12. Maybe, but I would rather they decided to move on. I was not too keen on them, but faced my fears to take the pic. Even though hundreds of them were buzzing round me i got within 500mm of the cluster and not one settled on me. Little bit worried about the grandchildren playing anywhere near it though, and it is near their swing.
  13. Haha, now that i have found out how to upload vid to youtube, watch out!
  14. No qccurate means of measurement rich, but i would certainly say it was much more economic. I reckon we used the boat more this holiday than others, and because of the calm seas a lot of was at full chat. Used less fuel than other years. But thats the same as the garden machines. Most of my customers report better fuel consumption.
  15. nice one!
  16. Here is another way Rich
  17. I can honestly say its running better than ever. A very even engine note, never missing a beat, and it does seem to have a bit more power. Its only 25hp and always struggled to get over the 'hump' and onto the plane with two up. It now gets over the 'hump' much faster and feels like it may have a couple more knots too. And when cruising very slowly around the creeks and harbour there is no petrol or exhaust smell on a following wind. Also, as it does not evaporate as quickly as petrol I did not have to pump the primer at all all week, whereas I would have to do it almost every time if it had not been used for an hour on petrol. All in all a great result and I will not be returning to petrol.
  18. A swarm of bees invaded our barbecue yesterday and made home in the garden. It was quite scary and noisy. They settled down so I thought I would get a pic.
  19. Those certainly make mine look a bit tame!
  20. Anglo American are always very efficient in the despatch of orders. Over the last 2 years we have ordered a pallet every 2-3 weeks and have never been let down. There is no real reason for any dealer to run out of Aspen if they are efficient in their stock control. We have never run out, but have been down to the last few cans a couple of times. For those customers who cannot get into us, we sometimes send direct. An order has to be in multiples of 3 cans, but will unfortunately attract a £20 plus vat carriage charge.
  21. My orders always arrive within 3 working days of the order being placed and paid for.
  22. Last nights sunset from about a mile off Fowey.
  23. It was along day Rich, and the rock balancing was over pretty quickly:biggrin:
  24. Seabirds on the Fowey estuary this week.
  25. I've just had a weeks holiday. When boredom set in I thought I would try my hand at balancing. Has anyone else tried this? ]
