  1. The bent av spring I replaced with a new one is now bent the same . Just going to ignore it now . does not seem to affect the saw at all ........
  2. As has been said it will be the vent on the back . The one for smokeless areas . The efficiency is not how little wood you use its how complete a burn the stove will make . So opposite things really . If the vent on the back is set wide open ( how it should be for smokeless zones then it will burn out over night . If you are not in a smokeless zone you can shut or partially shut the rear vent so you get more control from the vent/vents on the front .

    See if you can find a couple of good 254 saws then . You musta used them if you been at it 20 years . Still see some about in good nick now and then ....

  10. Ok . I think the older 372 ( pre Xtorqe ) are a better saw . Just me ......
  11. I have an old one . Had it ported by spud . Its on a 24" and goes like a loony . Maybe that would be worth a go , new piston and ring and a port job ?

  16. I would have thought it " reasonably necessary " to enable you to earn a crust and feed and clothe your family . Bloody bonkers all these jobs worths that are full of piss and importance . I thought encouraging new business was the way to go !
  17. I have not yet found a wood that wont burn when dry and seasoned . If it is as described above make kindling with it .....

  19. Get the bearings out and check the number/letters . Then go to any bearing suppler . Cheeper the getting them via Jensen .
  20. Just got in at 2.00 . Having a sharpen up then collect my little un from school then put the horse in fed and change rugs then my boy will be back from his school then I will cook our dinner ....... So technically not still at paid work but still a bit to do . Sorry about your truck eggs .
