  1. Yea . Got the Woodchuck pickaroon but I recon the beak is not long enough .
  2. Some times it helps also to bore the hinge also ( in addition to leaving some holding wood at the back ) so there are less fibers attached .

  6. I have heard " chipper ticket " mentioned . Not got one myself and used a chipper for ever but it may be a requirement nowadays .

  9. If you put it in google there is a youtube vid near the top of the list ere an American faller demonstrates it very well . You can see it correct the side lean as the steps of the Dutchman collapse and then come over in the direction of the intended fell .
  10. No . Its what I described it as .
  11. Soft Dutchman ! a series of cuts under one side of the face cut which collapses one side of the gob to fell a tree in the opposite direction of its lean . ( side lean )
  12. Rack . = ride cleared during thinning to allow for extraction of timber .
  13. If anything it will be too loose as you are effectively making the bar smaller in every plane . Might have to loose one driver ....

  15. If you could get hold of a decent 2nd hand 346 and send it to spud for a port job you will be sorted . 550 performance ( or better ) and total reliability . Mine has been going for several years now .
  16. Have a look for the 261 needle roller bearing problem posts . The money you save will help to pay for a lorry load of replacement bearings ............

  18. Pointless unless you have a tuned racing saw . Maybe a ported 395 with a 15" bar and chain . Got some racing sprockets somewhere if you want to try one .
