  1. I don't think it is a issue . Like you I adjust it until it cuts well . Usually 2 stokes on the rakers every 3rd sharpen .
  2. I don't like me and I'm not even famous ....
  3. If it was a " trav " site its ok coz they can do whatever they like .....
  4. I tend to file the rakers to suit the conditions ....Soft wood low hard wood not so . When I said no and no it was to the question " has any body looked into the fact that the pressed steel gauge is a tad inaccurate......
  5. I had one several years ago as a stop gap whilst Spud was porting my 346XP . It was around the 45-50cc mark and I was surprized at how good it was . Plastic cases I think . Sold it a week later for a bit more than I paid .

  13. Robbie . Workshop on the site of " Pollards " tomato nursery in Barnham West Sussex .
  14. CNC Manufacturing can produce very good consistency .(I am a time served tool maker in a past life ) However mass production manufacturing tolerances wont allow for fine tuning . Also modern restrictive emission clutter can be over come . So yes , I am saying that he can make a better saw out of a production machine . I am not saying Husqvarna , Stihl , Echo etc could not do it , just that the cost would be prohibitive in a production based inviroment .
  15. The draw back is in production costs . Tighter tolerances , extra work . Mass produced parts can never match up to hand worked parts what ever the subject be it cars , boats , saws etc etc .
  16. Just telling it like it is Gary
  17. My saws are ported ( spud did them ) and I have to say it is well worth it . They are ultra reliable , more efficient and just as safe , or even more so , than a standard saw . If you need to chase that cut on the hurry up etc etc .........
  18. He is having lunch in the restaurant at the end of the universes and the answer is 42 I believe ........
