  1. I think he means square ground full chiz as opposed to round ground full chiz as he mentioned the bevel shaped file .
  2. Don't forget to file from the outside in ( opposite to round ground chain ) .
  3. High Octane wont benefit chainsaws with a carb . It is made to resist " knock " or detonation in modern high compression fuel injected engines . It has been proven that when used in relatively low comp engines that they run poorly .

    With low comp I have found they will start from cold and run till they warm up then die when up to temp . They wont restart till cooled down again when clearance between bore and piston have closed again .

    Have you checked compression ? Some saws will start and run until up to temp then the clearances open up to the point were it wont support combustion . If its " nipped up " in the past it could be that .

    Fuel solenoid seems to be a common problem .
  7. Yes , lots of heat . Not much flame I recall but a deep glow that lasted and lasted . Hopper was just about empty when I came back from work but still the bed was alight . Just pour some more beans in open the air for a bit and shazam ! ?

  10. The estates that surround me ( West Dean , Goodwood , Cowdray ) aren't being backward about coming forward . Pretty much raped the lot .

  16. My old mate Alan Waters has the first Exeter they made . Its looking a bit battered now but still does the job .
  17. I used to love the smell of R40 . I am sure modern synthetics do a better job but they don't smell as good !
