The solenoid might be goosed . The A 540 is a good m/c IMHO . Used one a great deal . Sometimes the rollers get stuck up with brassh and clagger stuck under the right hand roller spigot . Put a big log in and push the stop bar before it goes through . Then the top roller will be up and you can dig the crud out with a screw driver or similar . This may not be your problem , as I said it might be a solenoid problem .

I assumed ( wrongly it seeems ) that a bark box would be lighter than a standard exhaust seeing as there is f/all in it ?

Just a stab ( and I read that you have had it apart , new crank seals etc etc ) but maybe you have not found the original cause , probably an air leak and you are back to square one . Rumbling could be mains .

So . Putin is amassing troops and hardware on the Finish border . Does anyone think he will try and push into Finland , Norway , Sweden and the Baltic states ? Bearing in mind the average loss of troops in Ukraine is around 1200 - 1500 a week and being replaced with virtually untrained " canon fodder " and the unsustainable loss of hardware , in particular tanks or is it a bluff ?

Morning all . The insurance company have written off Jacks car . So I am, taking him to work ( in a minute ) until he gets a settlement and can get something else . 12c , mild with overnight rain .
