  1. I do have a cheap code reader but it does not recognize my Nissan truck . My local garage have the usual hand heald ones about the size of a laptop but also have a monster big thing on wheels which can read the codes on a Challenger tank !
  2. Somewhere in amongst the junk I have an Oregon spinner and riveter . So yes tools are available .
  3. Morning all . Another cold night . Currently -3c but looking like another sunny spring day !
  4. Its never gone into limp mode .
  5. Yes , been there . Had to have a few forced regens done and oil change when it diluted the engine oil with fuel . One sensor replaced ( inlet manifold boost pressure sensor ) I did do lots of short trips where in the depths of winter the temp needle would hardly come off the stop . This combination is the perfect storm for clogging the DPF . However I do less trips now but the ones I do are much longer and everything gets hot enough . Not had any DPF props since then .
  6. One thing I learnt today from a mate is that if it is a minor ( non life threatening code ) then it will pop up to let you know and the after a pre set number of starting cycles it will go out again until it thinks it needs to remind you again .
  7. What saw is it ?Do you use the girlie de comp button if it has one ? This will lessen the force on them to a degree .
  8. Morning troops . Hard frost here as well . -4c here in the sticks .

  11. Yea the last time they found some historical codes from the factory that wern't cleared at the PDI .
  12. So this has happened 3 times in the last 8 months or so . I'm driving along and the engine management light comes on ( orange ) I think oh bollox . So I phone my local garage and book it in . This happens on the Friday and they can't look at it till Tuesday . I say ok thank you . Avoid driving it as much as possible but have to do the odd trip . This evening I went to the shooting range with light on and when I came out to drive home it went out . So no light no , point in putting a code reader on it . Bonkers innit ? I will phone them tomorrow and tell them .
  13. You left off " Baldrick " at the end 😀
  14. Its working so fast now like a pig down a greased slide . 🙂
  15. He is 26 Mick . Just recently given up teaching at Emsworth school . He wanted a job where you start at such and such o clock and finish at so and so o clock . With teaching it was 24/7 . He was a good teacher and they were sorry to see him go but the last 6 months he was miserable .
  16. Their their Mark . Sleep well bud . 🙂
  17. My lad just passed , also his rail work tickets , theory and practical and the first time he ever picked up a saw was 2 weeks ago when I showed him the basics . He has now done a weeks work for a firm in Hampshire and is loving it . One piece of advice I gave him was " leave your phone in the truck " Apparently I was wrong there as they need them to blue tooth to their coms in their ear defenders ! 🙂 Silly me !
