  1. That my friend is not going to tilt the world of its axis ! FFS That is doing nothing . At best a scratching post for the nearest cat . The whole thing is a piss take IMHO .
  2. I know this is a silly idea but is there not a local log merchant merchat who sell cut and split logs , ready to burn ?
  3. Morning Jase , morning all . 2c here with a wind making it seem like - something !
  4. OK . Each to his own . 🙂
  5. I have 2 mandolins . One flat belly and one bow belly . Must be really tricky cleaning the strings ...🙂
  6. Enjoyed it to a degree ( I am a through and through Quins fan ) but found the content similar to " Center Stage " by Jamie Roberts and Brion O'Driscals book . But then they are all rugby players so ... One thing that did come across was how ruthless Eddie Jones was . I found it amusing that EJ said his book would be entitled " Caring for Care " 🙂
  7. Well I can't see what they have to gain from this . Tell them if they want a dead stump removed then fill yer boots but they are paying for it . Edit . ....Oh yea and tell them you don't like their wall paper ....
  8. So not Rachel or Beckie but a lass who is not an Unthank . Yes she plays a sympathetic fiddle . It must be very nice to be in and amongst such accomplished musical artists . Since I posted originally I have acquired several more of their CDs I am from West Sussex ( so according to me I don't have an accent 🙂, but of course I must have ) but I just love the incredibly accurate pronunciation ( in a singing sort of way ) that that lass can put over . It is so precise and clear . I just love it .
  9. Hi Jonathan . We have sustained cold here also . sorta just above freezing all day and all night and a bit of a wind making it seem colder . Its the leaden grey skys that make it depressing mate .
  10. I have just read Danny Care's book " Everything Happens For a Reason " 🙂
  11. Ok . If you like the stump then leave it . If you don't and can afford a bloke with a stump grinder then grind it out . The world is your lobster ...🙂
  12. Or leave it totally submerged in water and it will last . Not practical I know just saying coz I can . 🙂
  13. You say you have no Problem with removing the stump . Is it just a stump and the rest of the tree is already gone ? If it is then I doubt just the stump would cause further problems unless ( if indeed it has in the first instance ) it coppices and sprouts . You also mention subsidence and heave in the same post . Its one or the other not both .
  14. All day long and twice on Sunday !
  15. I would have thought this would not be a factor provided you keep the stove door shut . Any cold air movement would just go into the stove body and up the flu . Probably not move at all though .
  16. Phew ! I think it was me who posted colder air is denser so contains more O2 per volume than hotter air . I have no proof that this aids combustion though . I was thinking in terms of the super charger on the front of an old Berkin 4 liter Bently forcing more air in to the enging there fore more O2 . Regards the outside air connection bringing cold air into the room when the stove is not alight . Firstly if the stove is not alight its probably not cold out side ? secondly it should be sealed , from the stove entry to the outside should be a pipe so it would only allow cold air into the stove not the room ( assuming you have the stove door shut ) . Having said all that I have a nominally 5kw stove ( I think it punts out about 7 or 8 on full chat ) and I don't have a direct out side air source . Enough air comes in through the dog flap in the back room wall . @carbs for arbs
  17. Morning Pete , morning all . 4/5 hours sleep ...luxury ! Wish I got that much .
  18. Good morning troops . 2c and still . Happy Wednesday .
  19. I was thinking more like the dark side of the moon ?
  20. There is a God !🙂
