  1. I have seen it work after a fashion but the bar rails were well worn and slightly splayed . Not ideal . Anyway it seems its not the case in this instance .
  2. The Stihl chain could very well be .063 ( 1.6 ) gauge , which would make it tight . I have had Stihl chains that are .058 and run them on a Husqvarna but generally Stihl chains ( made to run on Stihl saws ) are the wider gauge .

I think its a mini chipper , you know the little gravity fed jobbies .
  4. Would that be the fuel solenoid ? Its only a cheap part . Have they tried a new one ?
  5. Yes it would . I bought , years ago , a " West Coast " 385xp from Canada . It had a 28" bar with a semi chis narrow kirf full skip chain with the rakers practically filled right off . I was told by the guy it was a soft wood only felling saw .
  6. My daughter has been back for a week now and yesterday the fire alarm went off and they all had to stand together on the field ?!?!
  7. Any way . Its long past my bed time so I'm off up the wooden hill . Laters boys . ?
  8. The olden days ! You must think I was borne in back and white !
  9. Struck black gold? Black gold , Texas tea .....Well the first thing yer know old Jeds a million air , the kin folks said Jed " move away from there " a place in California is a place I orda be ....so they loaded up the trucks and moved to Beverly , ( hills that is , swimmin pools , movie stars ) ?
  10. The best bet is not to shit on it in the first place . Shovel , bog roll and hole I seem to remember ?
  11. 254 was the " bread and butter " saw back in the 80s . ? Massive compression I seem to remember .
  12. I think there is a " trade off " or cutoff point ( if you will pardon the pun ) with these low pro / narrow kirf chains . There are so many variables its tricky to quantify . Low pro will carry less chip away than say full chiz .325 . The kirf is narrower on low pro so less resistance but its not carrying out as much wood . ( from top of cutter to gullet I mean ) Once you get up to and over 50cc I recon .325 full chiz could well be quicker . Also its stronger so will last long . It prompts a massive experiment ! ☺️
  13. Had the same as you . Still got a 242 .
  14. That would be a Husqvarna 242XP ? If so , great little saw but becoming hard to find now .
  15. Actually he spoke very highly of you Khriss .
  16. Mmmm . Didn't think it through . Mind you , that Issac Newton has a lot to answer for . ☺️
