  1. Sounds like a dull chain, perhaps the rakers need taking down ?
  2. Nope . No retuning . I did change out the rubber components though . The pump fuel attacks the rubber removing the coating that is on them to keep the supple . Alkylate fuel won't do this so if you have a saw that has been run on pump fuel for a long time then switch to an alkylate fuel sometimes the rubber gets brittle and cracks . This is not the fault of the alkylate fuel it just shows up what the pump fuel has been doing . Of course if you run a saw on alkylate fuel from the get go you won't encounter these problems .
  3. I buy Aspen 4 or the Husqvarna equivilent and mix at 50:1 with Red Line Racing 2T oil . Mainly because i have quite a bit of Red Line kicking about .

I don't know much about archery Mark but if its anything like chainsaws you will regret getting the " home owner " starter kit .
  6. Good luck with that Stuart ! I expect it will be mega busy there . The two resident spitfires are a regular site here . I am in Lavant village just along from the air field . Hope you enjoy your break before you pop back over the Chanel 👍
  7. I would have met you and had a cuppa if I had known you were coming . Birdham is not far from me .🙂
  8. Just as an aside I have a 2011 560 that is still going strong .
  9. It's ok . They can't touch you for it .😁
  10. Ah . Ok that makes more sense . When you said revving it produced no chain speed it pre supposes it rvved up ok but now I get it . As its a box of bits have you looked at the piston/pot ? Is there any scoring ?
  11. Mmmm . I did not get this bit either . If it lost compression " massively " then it would not start let alone rev .
  12. Agreed . The roots need to breath .
  13. Its bad that it happened that way and you have sorta painted youself into a corner by not getting it strait back to where you bought it . I sympathise with you , very frustraiting . Its left it open to all kinds of excuses for why the origional dealer may not want to take the job on .
  14. I could never get mine into neutral so that I could pull the wire rope through manually . That was a pain .
  15. Why are they not for everyone ? That is discrimination . 😐
  16. Is " twice as less " the same as half as much ?
  17. If the galleries only go under the bark and the run parallel to the surface then not so bad . If they go in board toward the center then not so good .
  18. Its galvanized water pipe . Just slips over the handle of the winch . about 3ft long . Its called " water barrel " but its a tube essentially . ( but I think you knew that 😁 )
  19. Galvanized " water barrel " here .
  20. Yes I drilled series of holes ( about 2.5 or 3.0 mm ) in a matrix in the aproximate position of the two mesh areas .
  21. Take your tape measure into the shop .
  22. Just measure the bar from the tip back to the bucking dawgs/spikes/bumpers .
