  6. There is nothing wrong with your 2 year old wood . As I said it can get rained on when it is delivered and will no different to what you are selling . 2 year old woods that you describe are well seasoned . they have just got wet . They will dry out fine given the right conditions .... lots of wind / air , off the ground and the top covered .
  7. Green wood is live wood . wet wood is wet wood but still can be well seasoned . I have felled dead standing elms , you cant get more seasoned than that . But if it gets wet it does not help its burning capabilities What I am saying is Wet seasoned wood is way better than fresh cut live wood . Dry seasoned wood is even better !
  8. I know itys not green . he said its 2 years old .
  9. I think there is a distinct difference between " green " freshly cut wood and well seasoned but wet wood . The green wood has moisture that has been taken up by the tree . Seasoned but rained on wood is a different in as much as it will dry out quicker than " green " wood in a given environment . Look at the situation where a guy has dry stored 2 year old wood and its pissing down on delivery day and he tips it onto the driveway and it pisses down all day until the bloke gets home from work . That wood aint gonna burn too well to start with but it will dry out and burn sooner than fresh cut live wood . Thats my experience any ways .
  10. Feed all year round . Fat balls , peanuts , wild bird seed , sun flower hearts and thistle seed for the gold finches .
  11. I thought that if you open the doors you get a bit more heat for a short while but then you loose more up the flue ?
  12. Definitely seal the gap around the register plate and if there is air space around the flue above the plate insulate as well . From the picture there seems to me, to be not enough Clarence around the stove and it is set in a bit far . I know this is dictated by the position of the outlet lining up with the flue but I think they radiate better with more air around them . May be you could do something about the brick work ?
  13. We just got a text to say my sons school in Midhurst is closed . The roads are passable at the moment but to get there from here means going over Cocking hill which usually is a problem afer a while .
  14. He has just admitted on American tv to taking performance enhancing drugs in order to win all 7 tours . That makes him a legend !
