  1. Do all that . Crunchy peanut butter on the spring traps . Bait them without setting them the first couple of times . then cockem and use quite a few .
  2. Hi Chris . Welcome bud . They are all a good bunch on here . Good luck with every thing .
  3. He may be forestry but not the friend bit . Go in there and rape what you are allowed . Let him know he is a back stabber too .
  4. A bloke I know called Mark Buxton from West Dean in Sussex breeds heavy horses and has done some timber extraction in conjunction with west dean estate and the weald and downland museum in Singleton ( next village up from west dean ) When I next see him I will ask him if he would let you contact him .
  5. I think one of the main problems is that not enough people realize what cracking saws they are !!!
  6. Oh . Just get a bar the length he needs for it then ??
  7. 560 15"-18" ...... As above 372 or 576 18" - 24"
  8. That is what I was wondering .
  9. There have been a lot of posts about the actual brake handle on some Stihl models softening due to heat from the exhaust . Could it be that ?
  10. Had mine about 6 or 8 months now . well pleased . Keep an eye on the handle . have left it places on occasions as it can just drop out when you stop winding . Small thing .
  11. At one point I had a small trailer with a ride on mower in it , a log splitter and an large tipping trailer . The big trailer was just there to do some maintenance on it . A bloke 2 doors down said that my opposite nieghbour had complained to him about the big trailer . I had just removed a shrub , roots and all for her , for free , so was puzzled . So I out and out asked her was there a problem ? She did not know what I was talking about !
  12. Electric guitar bodies .

    24" bar...

It might not be a Stihl bar which means there is a chance the oil hole wont line up with the outlet on the power head . Its rare but I have seen that problem in the past .
  14. Mmm , maybe. not enough of them , too far apart for a lapsed hedge and too random in position . main trunk too low for old pollards me thinks .
  15. If its just for me then I'm not bothered by scruffy , after all I'm only going to burn it . Can see how jo pulic might want neat stuff though .
  16. Go down to the old mill pond ( small lane next to "The Bull Hut " pub . FGeed the ducks on mill pond ( optional ) Face south and take the foot path that goes right . over the sluice gate for the pond ,and through the reed beds . Keep going over all the bridges over the rife . Then follow the path on the old sea wall with intermittent thorn hedge . Foot path drops down onto the for shore after a bit . walk another 30 yards and you are upon them .
  17. Log splitting is tedious full stop by the way !
  18. I have the greatest respect for Steve with every thing he does but .... I don't think they are slow , It's all relative I know but if you don't count dedicated processors then I think they are way quicker than your average hydraulic splitter . Just the way i see it . Maybe I am missing something ?
  19. I walk with the kids and my dog through the read beds and into the part of Chichester Harbor called Fishborn creek . There are some mature oaks with trunks between 3 and 4 foot diameter . The main trunk only rises to a foot or less , then the crown spreads . ( you can step into the crown from the ground ) These trees look completely healthy , odd piece of dead wood nothing else . The crown looks consistent with a tree of much taller stature say 50 - 06 feet but they are only 20 feet at most . They are about 200 yards from the mean high water mark . Is it the brackish water that has given them this conformation ? What age would you estimate they are given a trunk of 4 ft diameter ?
  20. I used to take it when in my thirties . It was in a liquid form, not powder , and you put a couple of drops under your tongue . This was after your work out not before . I also took glucosamine and condroiten for the joints . I was playing squash to a good standard 2-3 times a week with heavy weight work on days in between . Never had any problems .
