  1. Yep that's what I did , as I said above , used a Lister Hot air welder with remote blower . Cut strips of filler rod from another old tank . Worked a treat .
  2. I put a meat pie on the exhaust manifold on the way to work.......
  3. If you can get hold of a hot air gun with a small nozzle you can have some success with that . Not always pretty but works . Even better if you have an old gash tank you can cut some strips off for welding rod .....Done it myself once .
  4. Mmmm . Contemporary wood or pseudo wood maybe ???

    Garlic?

Any wild garlic growing near by ?? May be some near the stink pie ? Should not be getting past the water trap/ U bend but don't know what else it could be !
  6. There is a trend here don't you think ? Soooo when you get your 550 or 560 Take out the spark arrestor screen ( and leave it out ) set the auto tune as per the book. Remember the ignition is always in the ON position . The de comp valve pops out just from compression even if it does not fire so PUSH IT IN every time you pull the chord ! Hot start ONE pump of primer ( de comp in ) and pull . Remember the red lever is Choke , half throttle and resets to ON all the time . Don't flood it .... and and go cut wood . Enjoy .
  7. Mmmm . You could have a point there .
  8. Second that all day long !
  9. Husky 550 on a 13" - 15" Bar or 560 on 15" - 18" bar .
  10. Stubby

    Husky 562 ??

Overall shape is the same . The mounting holes for an outboard bucking dog are further apart than on a 560 .

    Husky 562 ??

Not quite when you get up close . Dog mounts on side cover are further apart . High top filter and cover .....
  12. Yea sorry if you check my last post I said I got my nine and eight round the wrong way ...typo .
  13. Sorry . Got my eight and my nine back to front . My stove is the Burley Holywell . rated at 5kw but I am sure this is a nominal figure . It does heat the whole house which would suggest it is more than that . Maybe its to get round the room vent thing ? Anyway min is wood only but that suits me as I get aplenty !
  14. Wonder if there is a hit record in that .......
  15. Oh would recomend any of the Burley stoves . very efficient , mine runs at 98% . They are wood only though not multi fuel .
  16. If you google there is loads of places that give you a formula that works it out for you . Just put in your dimensions and it will give you min output of a stove you need to heat that room . Remember though that you could heat more than just that room . I prop all the internal doors open and heat the whole hose with mine . Flue liner will depend on stove spigot . Most are 6" now . . Mine went inside original clay liners ( 7.5" ) so no need/room to insulate but if its not lined already always good to do so .
  17. And teach him to step cut / under cut or whatever so that he does not rip any bark or another B/CH .
  18. Being right next to arable land we are infested with woodies and collar doves !
