  1. Worked out really well...!
  2. Thanks everyone. If you haven't yet completed the survey, it will take 5 minutes of your time max and all input is gratefully received. I'm going to be putting together another one shortly which will look at a slightly different angle... Thanks in advance! https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Klime_Demographics_Survey
  3. That is a funny old size...! Cooper STT is close, may or may not fit, will be a bit bigger than what you're running... closest is LT275/65R18, 50mm taller/25mm larger radius and 20mm wider/10mm each way than existing 255/60R18... all things being equal [discounting additional tread protrusion and apart from the fact that it might foul bodywork etc,] you will lose just under 3 degrees from your maximum steering angle in fitting this larger size. Good tyre though....
  4. Sorry... are they plungers or crutches stuck on their heads...? Someone's been creeping round the weird part of Youtube again....
  5. I like it.... and I know a thing or two about a thing or two... If you do want to try something different then yes, you could use a slightly dfferent font which lengthens the word by broadening each letter, but stick with one of the sans serif fonts, they're a bit more modern which works well with this monochrome design. Try all text below on 2 lines, may or may not work better.... And don't bother with colour, will end up cluttered....
  6. Think the DMM ones are forged, ISC are cast. I have one of the new ISC ones, seems perfectly good...
  7. All that.... Sundays are for being ill!
  8. They are all broadly the same, that's the great thing about Land Rovers, things change, but stay pretty well the same!
  9. Sorry, yes, I got cut off! If you are taxed at 20% and you make a profit of £1000 and incur a cost of £100, you get taxed on £900, but it may be that you can't claim the full amount or at 20%...
  10. Tax relief works against allowance, so to oversimplify, whether you're VAT registered or not, if you incur a cost of £100, you can offset that against your tax bill, reducing the amount you pay tax on, not the amount of tax you pay.
  11. Thanks Will, I'll keep that in mind!

I have a friend who helps me out but he's not very experienced on complex stuff.

Send me your number & I'll give you a shout when I have something.

    All the best

    Simon

  12. Price just went up....!

If this keeps up here I'll have the snowboard out tomorrow!
  14. You can lose DAYS watching those things on Youtube.... a most peculiar culture!
  15. Personally I have enough tables, chairs and wardrobes.... perhaps if there was a world shortage of furniture this organisation wouldn't come across as so utterly bizarre... but there isn't and frankly I can't see what they're trying to achieve.... Some people plainly have too much time on their hands and not enough common sense... BUT... they do need to be quickly and effectively put out of their misery, because as has been pointed out, we're bloody idiots in this country and if the media sniff this, before too long there will be a mass pouring of treasury funds into some sort of inquiry and review on whether this is a good idea.... it'll last years, cost millions, no doubt make the figures behind the campaign very wealthy yet achieve absolutely nothing... the potential good points behind their campaign, ie reducing land-fill or encouraging tree planting, will be lost amongst a witch hunt against commercial forests and government policy... So, who's going to challenge it in public and nip this in the bud, by destroying what little bit of credibility they might be building up, before it goes too far ...? Just needs 1 good decisive argument from a figure of authority...

    Whiting over now here....
  17. Anyone get a rash from Ash dust...?
  18. Not getting into that game! Patience is a fine thing!
  19. Anyone have any ideas of what I will need by way of liability insurance etc? Thanks!
  20. Not quite, in a much simplified state, you can offset some of the expense against tax but how much varies by type of expenditure. It's highly likely you won't be able to reduce your tax bill by as much as you paid in VAT. What it would do is reduce the amount of your profit you had to pay tax on, but you can still do this as well if VAT reg'd...
  21. And I wouldn't have thought there would be a problem with LOLER, the PPE element only goes so far as the hitch doesn't it... if they're being picky then the footloop & pantin grab / croll could be inspected, but the bungee & carbine hook aren't load bearing....
  22. Makes sense I guess.. quite like that! A Croll would make more sense than pulling another Pantin apart.... hmmm.... might try it....
  23. More power than you can handle clearly I had a chuckle the other day, passed a LDV 400 van weaving around a dual carriageway.... looking into the cab were what I presume to be 2 Nigerians or other central African gentlemen merrily bobbing along.... They were clearly not yet settled, their lane discipline and sunny demeanor suggested they hadn't been here long.... but what a shame for them, that their first experience of British transport was a rusty old LDV.... at least it gave them plenty of time to take in their new surroundings!
  24. How much?!?!? Hey... Why won't it let me caps lock....? Bloody thought police.....
