  1. M Large are very good to deal with. I think you'll be happy with the 18 ton. 100% agree with what they've said. I really don't see why Thor offer the 25 and 30 ton considering what I've seen the 18 ton deal with.
  2. Having used the 18 ton Magik on very knotty dead ash I can't see any requirement for the 25 or 30 ton options. Very well made splitters and easily changed to single hand operation.

  4. I'd say look to get a Farmi WP36 in or similar where it's easy to get access to the splitting chamber and lift them onto the conveyor or as you say remove the axe altogether.
  5. Contura for me. Great customer service. The self close and lock mechanism failed on ours after 4 years and we go a brand new stove with no hassle or cost to us.
  6. We have our Kiln Dried creates sitting on pallets in a rain tight barn with very good wind circulation where we are. Approx. 30 miles west of Aberdeen. Really need to get more more bagged. It really depends on the storage area, if it's damp don't bother..
  7. https://www.weldequip.com/portamig-mig-welders.htm I have a portamig 216 and it's great, very handy.
  8. You should convert that to foot operated only. Thor have made it surprisingly easy. The double pump is also recommended although not so easy to change.
  9. Ware tight fitting safety glasses all day. Helps my eyes and runny nose.
  10. Storing large amounts of Kiln Dried wood may be an issue. The moisture content is likely to rise. There's an interesting thread running on this topic.
  11. I read about this last week, "The Good Wood Scheme, recently adopted by Nelson City and Tasman District Councils, makes it illegal for residents to sell or burn firewood with a moisture content of more than 25% during winter months." Slow-burning Firewood
  12. I've run one since 2008, only had the usual ware and tear. Providing you find one with good chassis I'd recommend it. All info available here, Nissan-Navara.net Homepage Edit - I'd get the chassis inspected prior to buying and if it is good I'd price in a dinitrol treatment or similar.
  13. Cheers but it's not that, a screw driver and hammer works for me.
  14. Just to update. Talked to Callum today and he's given me some things to double check but likely I'm being over cautious. Thanks again for your help Callum. Cheers Fonzy.
  15. Top man Callum. I ran it today with no issues but it was -3. Quite possibly I'm being over cautious but it was more the noise of the pump that was worrying me. I'll probably give you a call next week. Thanks
  16. I'd question it and state you know of others else where in the country that do it with no issues. Where does it state this is not allowed? Etc.
  17. I use these and leave the phone in a safe place nearby, normally top pocket of boiler suit. Buy VerveRider+ By Motorola Wearable Wireless Waterproof Bluetooth In-Ear Headphones | John Lewis I'd say it more in the case you buy for the phone rather than the phone it's self.
  18. I think it must be different in Scotland, I sure the volume that requires bunded is closer to 5000 litres, might be wrong though. I had no issues getting 500 litres anyway and they'd have filled old 45 gal drums and that wasn't limited to one company. Just remember diesel will go bad after a time so you need to order based on usage. Thanks
  19. Under a certain volume it doesn't need to be bundled. I get an IBC filled with no issues. A simple phone call to a supplier local to you would confirm it though. I also use this, PIUSIBOX 12/24v Fuel Pump :: Commercial Fuel Solutions Ltd Cheapest set up I found and works fine.
  20. Hello, 400 rpm max. In the video it's approx 250 - 300, to allow it to cool down from a tank temp of 60 degC. I'll have a look for a bleed screw on the pump. The level dose sit low when ramp is in for transit. Thanks
  21. Attempt 2
  22. Hello, Hopefully the video link works The video is PTO driven WP36 at idle on 540PTO. It just sounds rough to me and was wondering what others with the same machine thought? When running for an hour or so today the temp rose to 60 deg so i let it idle (when i took the video) as I'm sure it would have hit the 80 mark. The oil level is above the mark and it's not been overheated. Pump sounds like it's on it way out?? https://www.dropbox.com/s/42qjvkfj53btxxo/WP36%20noise%20hyd%20pump?dl=0 Thanks
  23. out of interest what do you say's in an IBC. I've thought 1.2m3 loose. Thanks
  24. Nissan Navara D40 (older Model) Chassis issues, https://www.facebook.com/groups/505526562959686/
  25. Why is there a preference for kiln dried? It's moisture content that counts when it enters your fire. Kilns are used to speed up the process to get down to a MC that it can be classed as firewood. Sorry for the hijack.
