  1. Thanks for the replies. Appreciated
  2. Hello, Does the new Husqvarna combo can non-spill fuel and oil spouts fit the echo CS 360TES ? Thanks fonzy
  3. In my experience softwood burns hotter than hardwood. There's also less ash left over. If you have plenty I'd burn softwood over hardwood.
  4. [ame] [/ame] I have number 10 and its been helpful over the years

  6. Thanks Woodworks , I was just wondering if I was missing out on something! Cheers
  7. Hello, I've got a WP36 fitted with the standard chainsaw Oregon bar and wedge and I believe they later models now come with a harvester bar. Has anyone tried both? Is it worth converting? Thanks
  8. Nice video which shows the process. One of the very few (that I've seen) that stack their logs for seasoning. Makes all the difference I think. fonzy

  10. I've just removed all the guards so the handle can be reached from both sides, crazy...I know. For 2 way split I just raise the 4 way blade so the horizontal bade's clear. Very happy with it (WP36) though.
  11. Just season them then sell for ~ £55/m3. Dumpy bags = 0.75m3. Fonzy
  12. Hi, Looking for contact details for timber haulage (softwood) Alford Aberdeenshire. ideally 6 wheeler and drag due to access problems. Thanks
  13. Mine was less than £10 off ebay so I doubt its the best of instruments, but as said above you get a good idea by the feel, weight, sound and look of the wood and I'd say it's in line with that although reads high imo.
  14. So am I right in saying that most if not all moisture meters measure "dry basis" and stove manufacturers recommend less than 20% "wet basis" (which is 25% on a dry basis moisture meter) ? Thanks
  15. Nothing wrong with larch as long as it's under 25% moisture content (wet basis). Burn tonnes of it a year in ours and customers burners.
  16. Just wondered if the engine is letting it down a little?
  17. Is that a self propelled WP36 or PTO driven? Thanks
  18. Just use firefighters from home bargains and dry wood.

  20. I would say that 1m3 of sand weighs more than 1m3 of 3" crushed rock. I've always though that you get more wood in a 1m3 box if the logs are smaller as they sit neater. I cut majority of mine at 280mm, sold out of hard wood at 300mm. Most of my customers are using modern large door woodburners though.
