  1. I have owned a makita dcs4610 and was not impressed at all. My Dad has a Husky 136 which believe it or not was only designed to last 100 man hours but it has done more than that and is still going strong. Despite being about 5 years older than the Makita the husky 136 was a better saw. So as a result, from your suggested list I would say Husky 236. I have no experience with echo's so can't comment on them.
  2. I would recommend getting it done correctly via a dealer that also supplies the stove. Had 2 fitted this year and clawing back the money via saving on oil usage. Reidser
  3. As said softwood is where sustainability is. The hardwood thing seems to be south of the border?
  4. I've had a Makita but was very impressed with it. I guess I was expecting to much for my £160. It was very similar figures to my dads husky 136 (stillma toy saw though) but the husky was a lot better. His 136 is around 6 years old and is still going strong. I think this has been replaced by the 236 and you should be able to pick one up for £170 ish. As said above you get what you pay for but even under £200 I'd still say go for husky or stihl. Cheers Fonzy
  5. I have the normal oil spout for it which will do fine. Cheers
  6. No tach and way above my head! I'll see how she beds in and take it from there. Thanks for the replies.
  7. A-ha I see it. I'll run the stihl HP 2 stroke oil but I don't think I'll be playing with the carb settings as described in the book. If it aint broke I won't be fixing it! Thanks.
  8. Thanks for the replies guys. The Stihl Chain oil one doesn't fit my husky 346. Not to worry. cheers
  9. Probably a silly question as it seems to be just a pourer which is supplied with the canister anyway. Cheers
  10. I'll have a look on the net, thanks.
  11. .... does this Chainsaw Tools and Accessories | Combi Cans & Spares | Husqvarna Combi Can Oil Spout 505698003 - Willis and Grabham fit this Combination canister, transparent - I going to bet it doesn't.
  12. Thanks for the replies gentlepeople. I live in the sticks and only have a shell petrol station so no worries there. Is this ok, Oils and Lubricants | Husqvarna Two-Stroke oil - Willis and Grabham ? I have the stihl full system and I see the chain oil doesn't fit, bit of a bummer.
  13. Treated myself to a 346xp yesterday and all i can say is wow! I asked the dealer about running in the saw but he said there is no requirement. Anyone got a different opinion? Thanks
  14. I would say £200 less your fine for both number plates. One's missing and the other is boarder line visible.
